Weather and scenery are much nicer in NC than in TX.

Like any other state...it depends on where you live. Big difference between Raleigh/Durham area and Charlotte.

Summers are still hot. We had a lot of mid 90 degree days but some nice days too. Humid. They have their own style of BBQ that they are famous for and very proud of. Vinegar based and not a fan personally. Public schools are excellent in a lot of places--just depends on where you live.

I've been on a quest to find a place that doesn't have hot summers and the winters don't require shoveling snow.
There aren't many places like this. Most areas have 90+ degree summers or their winters have snow from the knee up
What i have figured out is this...
Texas has one of the longest summers in the country and the heat or sunshine is as intense as it gets in the US
I went from TX to AL. Alabama's summers are HOT but the bad heat is almost 2 weeks behind when Texas gets theirs.
TN isn't quite as bad as AL. KY isn't quite as bad as TN.
KY has the closest weather to what I'm looking for. Zero chance NC has as bad of summers as TX does
