Happy pi day all!

Edit - realized it doesn't say where.. those with the keen eye might recognize the 'logo' of sorts..

It's Parrys pizza. A little restaurant/sliceria that started just outside of Parker (off lincoln/peoria), right next to the apts we first lived in when we moved here 10 years ago. At that time, it was still the only location, though Highlands ranch opened up soon after.

Now 10 years later, locations all over the front range and Texas too!

Hope none of yall live in Louisville. They are trying to ban all new gas stations in order to "fight climate change". Not going to do much other than force people to drive further (and spend more gas) to get gas, and cause price hikes in town.

All these Californians are turning Colorado into Rocky Mountain Cali.

Louisville is the first jurisdiction in the front range that is going to require us to go all electric for new commercial industrial warehouses - Electric heat.

What was a 3000amp building now needs to be about 10,000amps. No way they have the grid ready for that anytime soon, yet we're already bidding it for 2024 work.

It's comical.. but whatever.

There are already better steakhouses here. I had Bob's near San Diego, and it was good but not great.

I've enjoyed Shanahan's multiple times. Elways has been hit or miss. Enjoy Del Frisco's business lunch, too.

I'll serve as a cautionary tale for Urban Farmer. Half the dishes were below mediocre. And I mean relative to any type of restaurant, not an expensive one. Ocean Prime in DTC was alright, but not sure I'll go there again.

Fleming's, Shanahan's, Del Frisco's, Guard & Grace, Capital Grille, Steakhouse Ten. I don't remember Bob's being better than Perry's or Eddie Merlot's.

Man I went down a rabbit hole of reading thread from page 1 to about 2016 or so.

I moved here in June of 2012, so just before the thread started. I bought a new build later that year, got laid off before house was built, ended up moving in same house, had a kid, got laid off while 2nd kid on the way, had another kid... it's now 11 years later, live in same house, kids are 1st and 2nd grade, in my 8th year at current job.. Finally some stability! Although my wife left her job last summer after 7 years! She's doing some soul searching.

I hired a handful of Aggies in 2014 while in O&G, but had to lay them off in 2015, not long before my impending doom.
Several of us met up for some happy hours, or played golf.
Several of us chimed in on places to live, school districts, commute times, for those looking to move.
We were excited for the new top golf, and GABF, and Avery tap takeovers at parry's.

Several people had the dream of moving here, then one day.. boom, a job offer! Pack up the house and leave TX!

So many things have changed!

Proud, Schall, dbtexasag, thriller, gunrangegal, ncoloradoag, nasag03, aggielandman, Philip J Fry, the pilot.. so many more I can't remember them all!

We talked recently about southern watch parties.. HR, Parker, LT, CR... not sure anything ever came of it.

Which of you southside peeps have young kids? I have boys, 7 and 8.

Hey Strat, We've got two girls (10 and 5) and a boy (2.5). I'm still up for a watch party of some kind, just need to stop procrastinating and plan it lol. We're really loving Parker and the southside thus far!

Shanahans and Del Frisco for traditional Steakhouse feel. A5 or Guard and Grace if you like the contemporary vibe.

If you consider Monument as southside I've got kids and am an avid golfer.

Wouldn't hate meeting somewhere for a game watch also.

what time are we talking for a meet up?
I'm driving home on 25 through the area usually about 4:15-4:30, m-th.
Wfh Friday, so sometimes do a 2 beer lunch in the area, or go to driving range/TG (just now trying to take up golf, haven't played many actual rounds yet!)

Thursdays or Fridays probably work best for me.

Usually leave LODO on thursdays by 4pm so I'm back in the area by 430-445. WFH Fridays so lunch or HH/TG after 3pm works.

Especially with patio weather (hopefully) coming our way soon.
Sure is taking its sweet ass time.

How about a top golf meet up on the next friday that's >60*?

The beer selection is mediocre, but gives us something to do.. you know, in case we all find each other boring!

I'm out camping weekend of 4/21 and 5/12 for camping though, and I run the neighborhood Cinco de Mayo party that day.

We should play golf in Castle Rock sometime, and you can pick up Whataburger on the way! It's a very lobsided deal.

TG sounds great, as does a future CR round. I'm still recovering from a meniscus repair back in December but I should be able to do some chipping this spring and play 18 this summer.

Do ya'll want to shoot for next Friday 4/7 (it is Good Friday), and if not that, 4/14? Obviously, we couldn't confirm either before a couple days ahead given these wild swings in weather of late.

I should be able to make lunch/Top Golf on a Friday. I'd say the lower the temps, the better... so I'm not tempted to play a round of golf. I think the Top Golf heaters raise the temp by 20*.

hah didn't think about that.
TG is ideal on a cold day!

Landman, one of those days will hopefully work out.. let's call it on the tues/wed before.

Way too many attorneys up in here.

I'm out for next Friday for reasons Proud can share in person if it happens, but in for something down the line. We could double down on this thread and do a steakhouse lunch (Del Frisco's DTC - $30 business special) sometime.

I just moved to Denver from Dallas. I have one question.

Why can't people here drive? At all?

That's pretty cool. My BIL was a part of Perry's in some form or another when it was just one or two locations I think. He did art work and stuff like that I think. My sister and BIL live in Parker, we rented in Parker for the first year and bought a house in Aurora this last September. Would love to be further south but as you can see, I have no AgTag and thus, am poor. LOL

lol!

I moved here from Dallas 10 years ago. Now when I go back I always get honked at! I guess I'm a slow driver now. And I never get honked at up here.

I suspect it has to do with the snow. I drive like there's snow on the ground even when there isn't.
