I've been following him since we moved here. Can't remember where I found out about it but he's been damn accurate on just about anything major. He's had a 25% increase in followers this past week.

i always have a few bottles of tequila and like juice on hand! The smell of salsa or chips instantly gets me in the mood for margaritas.

12 inches of accumulation up here in Greeley. Put my little Toro single stage blower to the test.

That was a brutal two hours of shoveling I just did. And still hasn't stopped. Every two steps had to walk to the edge and unload it.

Make sure y'all keep an eye on your gas meters as well as the vents for the water heater.

We live on about 1/3 acre but since we are on a cul de sac I've justified not needing a snowblower since our sidewalk is relatively short. Let's see if my mind changes by Tuesday.

I think I'm getting a snow blower.

First time that they have ever plowed secondary streets. The sledding earlier was epic. Sure glad I replaced my 2wd f150 in December

If you can avoid it, don't get anywhere near DIA. Had enough trouble just getting on Pena to get to E470 since 70 and a few others were shut down this afternoon.

Well this is some good news in a state that get's bluer every year:

They are easing the requirement for code green, meaning more counties can go green, masks aren't required for code green counties, outdoor venues can be at 100% capacity, and blue counties can have more capacity at bars and restaurants.

Moving up to Denver for a job this upcoming May/June after graduation. Been to different parts of the state a bunch, but haven't spent any time in the city. Was interested in the area because the convenient mountain access and solid job market.

I'm flying in this Thursday to look at apartments over the weekend. Hotel is in the Littleton area, most of the apartments I have tours scheduled for are in the Lone Tree and Glendale areas. Any suggestions on places to eat or things to see? Gonna be me, my girlfriend, and my parents going from Thursday-Sunday.

Come check some of Parker's recent growth in the food space.

West Main Taproom - 54 good beers and craft cocktails
Black & Haus - craft cocktails - huge whiskey list
Blu Note - live music, great food and drink
The Gym - divey but good food, sport's bar-ish.
The Douglas - steakhouse
Parker Garage - elevated food
Los Dos Potrillos - only Mexican restaurant + cerveceria in CO

Most of those opened just before Covid, and all survived.

Those are two pretty different areas of town. We lived on the other side of Glendale in Cory Merril for 18 months and now live in Lone Tree. Restaurants in Lone Tree kinda suck. Close to Glendale is Wash Park. We liked walking around Wash Park and then hitting up a restaurant on Gaylord St.

Yeah I'll be working out of Lone Tree and she's an RN so a more central location will most likely have the most job prospects for her, that's the reason for the those two being singled out.

So just changed registration on wife's car from Texas to Colorado, and something just doesn't make sense to me. I wasn't surprised it was going to be expensive, because I'd been warned and also had just bought a new Explorer here and paid that in February. I was surprised they did it based on the MSRP in 2018 when I bought it new in Texas. They did mention that next year it would start to go down, but is this because I've owned it the whole time? That just seems like double-taxation.

Also, had an issue when I purchased my Explorer from Autonation in Littleton. When I bought it, they charged TT&L but then called up over a month later saying they forgot to collect $600 in additional taxes from Boulder County. Doesn't that seem odd that their system wouldn't be automatic?

I definitely see why there are so many older cars driving around here compared to Texas.

Was a little tardy on doing this registration changeover since it was still current in Texas...

Been here since mid-2019. Property tax bill roughly half of what ours was in Texas. With state income and the higher cost of registration, I'd say taxes are a wash. Still wouldn't change coming here though, even with the higher expenses. Don't see us ever moving back to Texas.

I believe they always base it on MSRP. The percentage goes down each year though.

I bought a new truck in feb, and the value on my reg ticket was quite a bit less than MSRP, like $15k less.

So I'm not sure what it's based on.

Yes, I see that it's just interesting they base it off of when it was new even though it's 3 years old now.

Yeah i think they are effectively doing the same thing, but instead of using some formula to reduce the value of the vehicle, they just tax at the lower percentage to account for the depreciation. They are effectively taxing you the same percentage against current value of the vehicle, it's just a simplistic approach.

It's 35-40 minutes from my house to the Whataburger in the Springs; probably an hour for the Ags that live in Denver proper.

I'd also look at Denver Tech Center, as it's in between Lone Tree and downtown. It depends on what you're lookingfor: near the action and want to go out/party all the time vs. live further out and prefer a more laid back atmosphere. Downtown Denver was amazing when I moved here in 2009. It's gone downhill a decent amount, but it's still nicer than any large city downtown in Texas.

Glendale is close to Cherry Creek, which is a great area. I've lived in Lone Tree for almost 10 years, and I love it. I lived in DTC for the first 2 years I lived in Colorado, and I liked it also. There are many great places to live around Denver, but I don't plan to leave Lone Tree.

I'd definitely do lunch or early dinner at Sierra in Lone Tree; the view is amazing and food is good. Snooze is great for breakfast.

We're near DTC and love it. The schools were a huge draw.

it's depreciated every year. After about 10 years, it bottoms out.

One of the apartments is in DTC. My main reason for wanting lone tree is just shorter commute everyday. Do you have any experience in work traffic between the DTC & Cherry Creek areas to lone tree and/or vice versa?

DTC to lone tree is like 5 miles all highway. That's a breeze.

cherry creek to lone tree could be a haul.. You'll probably spend more time on Colorado Blvd than you will on 25 lol.

Yeah I saw linearly they're not far from each other at all, just didn't know if for some reason commute time was ridiculous like something you'd see around Austin.

I agree. My house is 3 minutes from Lincoln & 25; it takes me 10 minutes to get to my old place on the far/north end of DTC (Belleview & Ulster).

I could be at Cherry Cricket (in the heart of Cherry Creek) in 20 minutes right now without traffic, but that would probably be more like 30-45 minutes during normal weekday commute traffic.
