We were there a little under 2 years. Bought a new home in Commerce City (big mistake).

We got lucky and sold it w/out being under water. The value has dropped about 50K since then.

We moved to CC because our only friends (former McKinney neighbors) had moved there a year before and loved it. We say all the time things might have been a lot better if we'd moved into Denver proper or one of the communities south of Denver.

Will never rule out returning. We've said many times lately we wished we'd bought much less house in Dallas and just kept a place in Denver as well. Our work doesn't care if we moved.

I traveled weekly when we lived there. My wife said if I was going to travel that much she'd rather be back in Dallas w/all of our friends.

I love being home. Being away made me appreciate the DFW area infinitely more. Still miss CO every day however and hope to get back permanently (or semi-permantely) while I'm still young enough to enjoy the mountains.

I'll be in Denver later today through Friday for a conference Downtown. Any good advice on where to go that doesn't require a rental vehicle/lengthy cab ride?

There's a ton of good bars/restaurants on the 16th Street Mall. It's pretty touristy, but a good place to go if you're visiting and don't wanna drive anywhere.

Falling Rock Tavern by coors field. Enormous draft beer selection. I've always enjoyed wyncoop brewery as well. Not the best beer but good and decent food.

Go to Great Divide Brewery tap room near 22nd and Arapahoe. Top 10 brewery in the world, pretty good crowd, 20 beers on tap, and a pizza truck out front that is really good. Stop by Falling Rock after.

Already sounds like I'll be having a great time full of beer and great food. As I type this I'm at DFW waiting for my flight. Being the good Aggie I am, I'm at the Texas Stadium Bar. Can't wait to get to Denver. Wish someone would have told me about 35 min can ride from the airport though!

Probably more like 25 minutes, unless the cabbie drives really slow.

OX make sure you get a normal cab. Not some democratic lib cart like a Prius!

There is no shortage of beer downtown. You have a good dozen or so choices. Breckenridge is right by coors field too. And they have several other CO brews on tap, not just their own.
Check beermapping.com for all the breweries in the CBD area.

Unfortunately I read the Prius post after the fact. You figure the fair would be cheaper in a hybrid.

I'm at Marlowe's now enjoying a Big Nose Wheat. Pretty darn good.

What service providers does everyone use? Power, Internet, Cable?

Power will be xcel. I use century link for Internet and dish for satellite.

Stay away from Comcast like the plague. Get dish, it's miles better and cheaper.

I will be there sipping chardonnay in my plaid shorts and penny loafers. I can only hope that a few of the numerous Broncos (who call Lone Tree home) will be there.

Just got back from taste of lone tree, proud. What a deal with the living social, $15 for wide and I, and I'm stuffed and got a buzz

I agree; it was pretty awesome. I had a lot of beer, several of the margs from Rio, and a ton of good food. The scenery was excellent as well, and I heard of a coog getting cut off from the Rio margs.

You will be dissappointed if you go to Taste of Denver after going to TOLT. Way too crowded, long lines, nothing is free, and lots of punks/wannabe g's.

i haven't heard of that one. I came and visited my aunt here like 8 years ago and went to taste of colorado, it was downtown, that was def. too big, too many people.

There is another festival this weekend at wildlife experience. A bit pricier. Lots of more beer to choose from though.

You're right- it's called Taste of Colorado, not Taste of Denver.

I might go to Whiskey and a Western at Wildlife Experience in the late September.

**PARTY: AGGIES vs La Tech**

This is tentative, but I'm planning on a game watching party for our 1st game. I was hoping to get SoonerBorn to bbq, but I think he is competing that weekend. We'll figure out something as far as food and drink.

AGS vs. La Tech GAME-WATCHING PARTY:

I just realized the game is at 5:30 MST next Thursday, so I'll try to have my house ready by 5:00 for people to arrive. I can grill, or we can order pizzas, or people can bring their own food. I'll plan on doing fajitas and possibly some tri-tip if that's okay. I'll have big screens upstairs and downstairs, ping pong, and a slide.
