Have fun guys. Every time I've played out there, the deer are all over the range. Makes for a fun warmup. If I remember correctly, the restaurant makes a good breakfast burrito.

Looking at a May-ish moving date. Please tell me the weather will be amazing in town by then.

Probably the hottest time of the year. I don't have a truck so don't call.

Schall,

May is usually really good weather minus a day or two here and there. Spring is great here, when it goes from 20-30* at night to 40-50* at night.... makes for some great grilling/sipping bourbon weather.

As a golfer, here is how I look at Denver weather:

Peak golf season: May to October/November
Golf shoulder season: November, March, April
Winter: December, January, February

As a disclaimer, I love cool weather & the only reason I ever want it to be above 75-80* is if I'm at a pool, lake, river, or beach. In the 4-5 years I've been in Denver, there's probably been 1-2 days of snow in May per year. By about mid-March, the snow does not stay on the ground long. It seems like last year, about half of March and April was snow on a Monday/Tuesday & golf courses open by Wednesday/Thursday. Under my list of "shoulder season" months, there are a ton of great weather days, but there will be some bad days mixed in. It is really rare for it to go more than 1 day here without being sunny.

^^^^^ PA02,

Couldn't have said it better myself. This exact description is why I've been in love with the area for a long time.

Just sucks for me after 20+ years in my career, since it's hard to find a comparable job up there. And I'm stuck in Dallas today with a perfect CO day (sunny, little wind, and in the upper 20's/lower 30's) ... just no mountains!!

I'm about ready to take a huge pay cut just to relocate. Ha!

Sounds great!! My wife's company is taking care of the move, so dont worry about a 'please help' post quite yet. If my transfer doesn't work out, however, I may be hitting yall up for leads in the job market. Fingers crossed.

64 and perfect right now. Might get 1-2" of wet snow tonight.

I'll be in Breck all weekend, and then it is officially golf season for me starting next weekend. Woo!

Can't help you, but you probably will have time for bowling and martinis.

On the other hand I may need a lawyer if I do that over lunch/dinner/late night again.

I'm not sure what happened after we left that place but I'm sure it was epic. Put it this way, I'm glad I went home.

If I remember correctly, I left first & went to support my wife at her monthly checkup at the baby doc. Since the doc is an Aggie, I believe that was the day I mentioned the likelihood of siring our child during halftime of the A&M win at Bama.

I hear db had a little too much fun.

Proud does nothing. He basically hangs on at a company playing golf outings as a ringer. Just as they are about to wise up to the fact that he actually contributes nothing to the bottom line, he lines up a new opportunity and makes his escape to greener pastures.

In case you are unfamiliar with the industry and haven't figured it out from Sooner and db's responses, I'm a landman. It's a sweet job.... put deals together, get wells ready to be drilled (contracts, leasing, etc..), and occasionally play some golf....gotta network and find deals.

*For the record, Sooner Born and dbtexasag05 both work from home & I suspect they both cross-dress while "working".

I just finished up a joint degree in law and business at ASU and am looking at maybe moving to Denver. My writing requirement was on hydraulic fracturing, and I'm definitely interested in O&G. Would you mind shooting me an email at jsfarme1 at asu dot edu? I'd love to talk to you about your experiences as a landman.

I'm pretty sure you will see my transformers on site in Longmont.

Encana is a very good customer of mine.

How long has she been with Encana? Class of '05 is really young to be in management with a company like Encana; she must be doing a great job.

Anything interesting going on?

I'll be heading to Houston for a golf tournament ("work") this afternoon, so I'll think of the Denver board as I order a double meat, double cheese Whataburger tonight.
