Hi there!
Generally speaking I favor the Rockies, New England, and California.
I was born in CO so it feels like home. We try to go to the mountains at least once a year. I think Montana has been my favorite, but I love fly fishing and it's incredible there. Park City is always an option because the logistics are so easy. 45 minute uber from the airport and then there are shuttles around town, the Deer Valley side if we're feeling extra fancy.
In the NE, Vermont, Maine, and Upstate NY are my favorites. These are perfect for family getaways which I do more of now with three little kids. Kannebunk, Bar Harbor and Acadia are my go to's for my family and for my clients going to Maine. In Vermont: Stowe, Burlington, and Champlain are perfect for a mix of activities like river rafting, boating, mountain biking, ziplining, etc. Maple syrup farms, hand made ice cream everywhere. It's a summertime dream for kids who like to be outside. Upstate NY mostly because my wife has family here but berry picking, apple picking and cider making are so much fun.
In California, Big Sur/Carmel/Pebble beach are incredible. Alila Ventana Big Sur is probably top three favorite hotel for me. You also have the Carmel valley behind with some really nice resorts, wineries, and golf.
More recently I've been wanting to explore Virginia (the Primland lodge is at the top of my list), the "horse country" towns like Middleburg are making a come back and the downtown areas are perfect for an adults getaway.
