Will be in Port A next week with my family. Any recommendations or things we should know before we go? Thanks in advance.

Where are you staying? Golf cart zone, or further southwest? The HEB in Aransas Pass is a good spot to stop for groceries and there is a half decent liquor store right there too.

We are staying close to Roberts Point Park. Not sure if that is in the Golf Cart Zone or not.

That would be considered in the golf cart zone.

How old are the kids?
You are going to be a little ways from the beach. I would rent a golf cart, that is the way down there.
Book a fishing trip, go to the beach, go to the Aquarium in Corpus and see a Hooks game. Try and drink the town dry and make the kids drive you home on the cart.

Dining can be a challenge. Lots of options, but they get crowded fast. I would look to see if you can make reservations. Tons of threads on this subject already, so do a search and you'll find all you ever wanted to know.

Was planning on just driving down and onto the beach. We are only there for a couple of nights. Quick trip that we planned late.

Kids are teenagers.

Hope to find some good places to eat. We don't drink much (if at all) so not really part of the decision.

I will go deeper in the search to find some threads. Did search initially and didn't see much.

I have better luck searching using google. Search 'texags.com travel port a' and it returns a bunch of usable stuff.
And, think twice about the golf cart. It is the thing down there. All the cool kids are doing it. You can always get one once you are there. But, if you reserve ahead of time, they deliver it to your place and pick it up as well.

Day and time will determine if taking ferry or driving around CC to reach Port A. $60 Pop up tent from Academy along w tent stakes and hammer. Load up on bottled water and ice. $12 beach parking pass.

KC's Oyster. Fins. Virginia's. Gaff is a dive bar but good pizza. Not much to Chapel in the Dunes, but since you're there. Cart would be easy/fun for a day. Worth it.
