Does anyone have any experience or recommendations in this area of the Balkans? Last year I did Bulgaria, Serbia, Macedonia and Romania and absolutely loved it. These three countries are the last three I haven't been to and really want to explore.

I have a wedding in Florence next May and plan on taking at least twelve days after the wedding to explore this area. Transportation seems to be more of an issue than most other places in Europe but I don't mind flying from capital to capital or taking a bus. I would rather not rent a car but if that's the most convenient option I'm ok with it. I've also spent time in Croatia but have never done Dubrovnik which seems to have ferries to Montenegro that I would be very interested in.

Any tips and recommendations would be appreciated!

Other than the fact that I read article yesterday stating that Albania is one of/will be a very hot market for Americans to move to.

Bosnia
Mostar is excellent. Sarajevo is interesting but also a lot of men smoking in cafes instead of working.
Albania
Only went to Sarande, and it was early shoulder season so not much going on. During the summer it should be active
Montenegro
Kotor is amazing. Spent a week there and it wasn't enough.
Budva was ok but nothing compared to Kotor. We also went to Podgorica, the capital. Wouldn't suggest that.

Have not traveled to the Balkans just yet, but have heard/read great things about Montenegro. That it is vastly underrated and very affordable.
