I may head to Tobago for my next scuba diving trip. Anyone been?

I'm trying to decide which side of the island would be best to stay on for scuba diving. Most of the dive shops are on the northeast or southwest sides of the island. However, most of the lodging is on the southwest side. I read that the northeast has the best drift dives which is what Tobago diving is known for.

The island is small. It's 15 minutes across the thin side and 1 hour across the long side.

Yes. We have been and loved it. While the bulk of the hotels are on the SW side, the best diving is on the NE side. Which means you want to head to Speyside.

We spent a week here: https://bluewatersinn.com/. It's an awesome inn, and they have good food. The diving is drift diving.

They will pick you up at the airport in Tobago, or you can rent a car. It's about an hour drive, up twisted mountain roads, with driving on the left. There are a few places to eat in Speyside and Charlottesville, specifically Jemma's Tree House, that you will not want to miss.

Fly to Trinidad and overnight at the Hyatt in downtown Port of Spain before you fly to Tobago the next day. PoS is rough, so you are just staying there to overnight. The Hyatt will also transport you to and from the airport and it's a first class hotel.

Let me know if you need more details. You'll love it!
