On my last two trips abroad I rarely needed my home line and just relied on the Esim for data and local calls if needed.

Can someone help me set my phone up or give tips to avoid the ATT International day pass charges? I would only need to check home phone texts every 4 or 5 days over a few weeks. Everyone important to me knows to just use Messenger or Whats App. Is it just as simple as making the Esim the primary for phone and data and then turn off the physical ATT Sim? That's it?

Finally, is there a way to use my home phone line over wifi and avoid the charges all together? Maybe a setting or something of the like?

The phone I use is a Samsung 23 Ultra Global Edition and is unlocked.
