Any recommendations? I have a 4.5 hour layover at LHR next week and would like to meet with a client based in West London. Obviously this goes out the window with the slightest flight delay, but assume everything is on time.

I know it's a stretch, but it looks like there's a decent number of hotels adjacent to Heathrow. Do any of these places have nice breakfast restaurants that are convenient & nearby?

I've stayed at the Hilton (terminal 4) at Heathrow several times before a morning flight. The lobby is a large open atrium with several restaurants and a nice breakfast area.

We have been doing a lot more of our European transfers on Iberia through Madrid Barajas. Would highly recommend. Still get all the One World perks.

For a 4.5 hour layover I would not leave the airport. The Heathrow Express can get you into Paddington quickly but that turnaround has to be fast. Passport control back in is always an unknown amount of time. The taxi line can sometimes be long at Paddington. Not always.

Edit...This is not coming from someone that just went on vacation to Europe. I worked there. LHR was my stop and transfer. 4.5 hours is not enough time.

Thanks for the feedback. I wouldn't go further than the area surrounding Heathrow. Not even considering central London.

What airline and terminal? The genius that designed LHR put the terminals way apart. I have been there when I had to take a taxi from one to another because the train was down. If you are BA you are all good.

BA currently flies out of both T3 and T5.

They have this muffin that's dried out and not sweet at all. Can't remember what it's called.
94chem,
That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough

Thank you all for the feedback. Client meeting ended up not materializing which gave us an opportunity to get coffee with my great aunt instead.

She was gracious enough to meet us inside T2 at one of the landside restaurants adjacent to check-in. Immigration took all of 45 seconds, and re-clearing security was no more than 12 minutes, not bad for the morning rush.

I don't get the Heathrow hate, but I've only traveled thru T2 & T3, so I've never personally dealt with the BA madhouse that is T5.
