I would stay downtown, bricktown adjacent. You can walk or scooter to all the bricktown things, but there is some riffraff there at night that you could avoid. Automobile alley is also close by and that's a cool area.
There are a few nice hotels downtown, I usually stay at the Skirvin or Colcord (I'm a Hilton guy) but there's a nice Marriott property as well close to there but I forget the name.
If you don't stay at one of those: Avoid SW OKC unless you are right next to the airport, avoid all of West OKC unless you go out to Yukon or further, and avoid east OKC by tinker. The NW side of town by the mall isn't bad, more suburban though and still some rough patches.
