Does anyone have any recommendations for family friendly golf resorts? We are looking at grand resort in Arizona but its a little far. We would prefer to drive with all the clubs and whatnot so preferably closer than 17 hours. We are in Houston

We did an impromptu trip to the Omni at Barton Creek in Austin. My kids were college age at the time but there was an adult pool and a separate family pool and tons of small kids. The hotel and the courses were great.

Lost pines would be another similar to the Omni and Marriott mentioned above.

We just went and the kids loved it, but the golf was EXPENSIVE.

The Canyon was meh, but the Oaks was great.

I've done JW many times and always get the 5PM tee time. No one else is on the course, you're done by 8 and I've never paid as much as $100. Gives you all day to do the other stuff.

OP i now live in Arizona. If you can stand the heat and tee off at 6AM this is as cheap as golf gets here.

Another vote for JW Marriott in San Antonio

we actually stayed there last year. It was awesome. The only downside was the pool was not the best for our older kid. We ended up deciding on the hyatt in the hill country!

Ross Bridge or any of the Robert Trent Jones courses. I prefer The Ridge and The Judge.

how was the set up there? I'm trying to find something localish if possible to take the family this summer. Our elementary aged kids love pools and golf!

Even better is a VRBO in the Ozarks hills or down on the river with a 30 -45 minute drive to any of the Payne's Valley, Ozarks National, Buffalo Ridge, and par-3 courses Mountain Top and Cliffhangers.

I agree. We stayed off site at a cabin on table rock when I played the courses.

That was several years back though and I think its gotten harder to get tee times without being on site. Especially if you are looking for 4 somes or large groups. I could be wrong though.

Try Horseshoe Bay Resort.

We've added tons of amenities over the last few years. Top notch golf, recently added Golf Academy, racquet sports, arcade added this spring, floating pool on constant level Lake LBJ, etc. For summer, there is a floating obstacle course on the lake as well. For more adult adventure, check out the Ford Bronco Off Rodeo experience located a few miles away on our private ranch.

We just launched a Kids eat/stay/play free package where kids eat breakfast/dinner free, plus free putting on the Whitewater Putting Course, as well as a $25 arcade card (12 and under).

The resort has every type of accommodation you could need. From regular hotel rooms in our tower, to 1, 2 and 3 bedroom Villas, as well as tons of Condo's and Private homes in our rental pool. All grant you access to the resort amenities. If you upgrade to our new Signature Condo's, you also get exclusive access to the Yacht Club pool area.
