There is no "pre check", all have to take off shoes, put anything in zip locks etc.... unless you were BA first class, they got to speed through security.

British security is a joke and mornings at Heathrow can be awful. We were in Europe for a month two years ago and they would not allow my son's fruit/yogurt food pouches through without a written medical prescription. Once my doctor stopped laughing he wrote a prescription stating that my son needed them or he would die of malnutrition
