Here is what we are looking at doing the last week of April or first week of May:

Straight round-trip flight Houston to Taiwan, only EVA Air.

EVA's customer service is not that great, so are there any travel agents here (or travelers as well) that have a decent amount of experience with EVA and their flight change policies? TIA

I've had clients fly them but not enough that I can speak on them. Let me do a quick search to see if I can find any info.

So their website looks like it tells you the amounts charged for changes and cancellations when you select the flight class.

Here is from my vendor which seems to match the website. *note I am not an expert in air and cannot guarantee this matches the direct.

Taipei is an amazing city so I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. I've flown Eva a decent amount as they are my preferred star alliance airline in Asia.

Overall, they are great - definitely a top tier carrier and I've always found their customer service to be good. I'd highly recommend the premium economy seats - they are equivalent to domestic first class and typically only cost a few hundred dollars more.

The only drawback is that like other Asian carriers, they keep their cabin warmer than I'd prefer.

Agree that EVA is one of the nicer airlines in the Star Alliance…definitely a step up from US airlines.

The Premium Economy seat class is equivalent to most US Business Class seats.
Definitely recommend if you are unable to Travel Business Class

Fly EVA. You won't regret it. I've flown them over a dozen times and will be on a flight with them on Friday.

Yep EVA better than any of the US airlines when it comes to service on plane.

Have flown EVA a handful of times from Singapore to Houston. Agree with everyone else, much better than US carriers. No jaded old flight attendants.

The food was damn good on my flight last night.
