Going on a golf trip with a big group of Ags early next year. Looking for a steakhouse that potentially has a private room to dine in. Talking 14-17 guys.

Personally I love Delmonico's at the Venetian. Cut by Wolfgang puck is also very good. Also at venetian/palazzo. Prime at the bellagio is also excellent. Finally, it's a short Uber ride to Del Friscos off the strip.

Cleaver's. Off strip. Great ambience.

I love Joe's in the Forum shops at Caesars and never miss it when I'm in Vegas. Great steaks and stone crab. They make their own key lime pie too and it's excellent.

Only if you like eating in a club atmosphere where you have to yell to hear the person across the table from you.

Had a great meal at Barrys Downtown Prime in Circa.

And have to mortgage your house for dinner.

I've been to Delmonicos many times and have never been disappointed. I know they have at least one such room for private parties.

Tom Collichio's in the mirage is pretty damn good. $150 or so before booze for salad, steak/accoutrements, side.

20 years ago I ate at a steak house in Circus Circus. Old school place full of dark Kelly greens on the walls and maroon leather. Place smelled of cigars, whiskey and meat. No clue if it's still there. All I remember was the steak was big and the martinis were massive and pure gin.

Random question about your handle- were you in Outlaw 8 class of 2002 or 2006? Or is your handle unrelated? Not trying to dox you, just interested because I may or may not have been in Squadron 8 during that period.

I'll be at Barry's on Friday night.

would any of these vegas steakhouses even make a "best of" list in say Houston?

curious how they compare to a Pappas, V & A's, etc.

I think Steaks hit a wall. High end Dallas/Houston steakhouses are going to compete with vegas. You can get A5 Wagyu at any super high end joint in Dallas or Houston.

To me, the best thing to do in Vegas is hit some of the "other" concept restaurants that aren't just a steakhouse.

Or go for a cool ambience or a place that has more than just steak and oysters.

Try Bazaar Meat if you want an unconventional meat-stravaganza.

Smith and Wollensky inside the Venetian. I've eaten at all the other places mentioned above and S&W is the best.

Cleaver
Andiamo at The D
Golden Steer

Barry's is way overpriced. Been to Craftsteak, Delmonico and Stripsteak and they were all fine.

Prime in the Bellagio was great but not particularly outstanding.

It very well could have been overpriced, but I had one too many old fashioneds and was with a group that split the bill evenly. You can get Blantons for $18, but they didn't have any in stock.

Michael's at South Point (five miles S of Strip) is very hard to beat. One of the best steaks I've ever had and everything else on the menu was phenomenal. Great atmosphere too, very old school.

I'd go with this for a party with the fellas.

I also like Craftsteak and the Wynn Steakhouse. I'm spoiled with steakhouses in Texas but those two always deliver.

Is Michael's the place that used to be in the Barbary Coast? If so, that place is great and a relative value compared to the others.

Edit - looked it up and it was the place that used to be in the Barbary Coast. I know it is now in the South Point(highly underrated because it is south on the strip), but it was one of the original fine-dining places in Vegas. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed.

Cleaver's has Happy Hour priced steaks... we did a monster team dinner there for 12 of us and the total bill was just under $2k... and we're talking apps, bottles of wine, steaks, cocktails, port wine and dessert, etc.

Will reiterate BSD's recommendation of SW Steakhouse at Wynn. Gave up on many of the others and dined only at SW over the last several years.

Probably not the place for this trip but the steakhouse on top of Binions was great. It won't impress people looking for that flashy strip experience which I've had numerous times but it's pretty cool taking the elevator to the top and into a steak house that you know held huge names and the mob alike. Great view of Vegas too.

Agree - I've taken some customers there several times, and at least 10 people in the party. Get there right before sunset. No one ever complained, and these were serious complainers.

Yeah, our group of 7 chose the middle menu (since we had no idea how to order anything else). It was $300+ per person and only 3 bottles of wine.

A lot of option people are listing are not ideal for a group of 14 dudes who I am guessing want to party.

Bazzar Meat is one of my favorites and more unique. But bad location in a ****ty hotel.

STK by far best ambiance for a party vibe. They also have private rooms which might be your only choice for a group that large. We have booked the private room twice and is great option and in Cosmo which is funnest hotel as well.

Delmonico really good steak with decent vibe.

SW Steakhouse probably my favorite but will be next to impossible to accommodate that large of group.

that's true but it's easy to hop around the strip.

You don't have to pick your dinner spot based on the casinos
