Wife and I honeymooned in Key West back in '22. Kept some rough notes:
Breakfast/Coffee:
- Key West Coffee Company
- Cuban Coffee Queen
- Blue Heaven
- Pepes
Lunch/Dinner/Drinks:
- Garbo's (Food truck outside of Hank's Saloon)
- Carolines
- The Waterfront Brewery
- Dante's (cooked our fish from a fishing charter that morning)
- First Flight Island Restaurant & Brewery
- Southernmost Beach Cafe
- Old Town Tavern & Beer Garden
More Drinks:
- Sloppy Joes
- Willie T's
- Green Parrot
- General bar hopping on Duval
Dessert:
- Kermit's Key West Key Lime Shoppe
- Mattheessen's
Activities:
- Fishing charters (there are countless options here - we did the Salty Goat, as my wife enjoys fishing but prefers things on the simple side - this was just dropping bait straight down, crew handles everything for you - on a return trip, I'd like to try something a little more sporting)
- Jet ski tour (circled Key West with a tour guide and got to learn some neat stuff about the area).
- Sunset Sail (had to fit one of these in as it was our honeymoon).
- Hemmingway House (you can do this self-guided if you just want to quickly see the house - I think you make a donation/buy a ticket to enter, but you don't have to be in a tour group).
Also, we flew into Miami and drove down (think everyone visiting Key West should do this drive at least once, but I would likely lean towards flying directly to Key West on our next visit), making the following stops:
Key Largo - Snook's Bayside
Islamorada - Islamorada Brewing & Distilling, Florida Keys Brewing Co, Robbie's to hand feed tarpon
Big Pine Key: No Name Pub (This is fairly out of the way - went there on the recommendation of my in-laws. Not sure I'd repeat
Stock Island: Hogfish Grill
We stayed at the Tropical Inn on Duval Street. The inn had a free or relatively cheap bike rental service, so we returned our rental car and biked/walked the rest of the trip (aside from taking an uber to the airport to leave). This worked out great, plus I feel like parking seemed like it would've been a headache to deal with.
Overall, we had a blast and hope to return soon!
