Just checking in again on this. I went back an looked and renewal application was sent in May (not March) second.

OCT 3rd and still nothing. Here we are working on 6 months.....

I did a good amount of international travel in the last 5 years so as someone mentioned earlier, that seems to be possibly what slows things down.

Last evening coming in from London I did my interview on arrival.

First, the experienced re-enforced the need to get Global Entry. They have removed the automatic kiosks from the entry hall at IAH and we had a long line as our big plane, the Frankfurt plane and many from Caribbean and Mexico that came in at the same time. And there was a long line to get through customs.

If you are going to the do the Interview on Arrival, don't be in a rush. The interviewers are actually in the entry hall and it's easy to miss the sign to where you need to interview. The sign was at Lanes 3&4 so if you get on the escalator to go to baggage claim, you've gone too far. They will let you back upstairs and were very nice to direct me to the correct lane for the interview. There were several people in line (at first there were about 8 people) and they said to expect 20 minutes per person to gauge how long you will be there. This caused a family to leave the line so other than the person who's interview was taking forever, there were 2 people now ahead of me. There was 1 person doing the interviews and he was not in a rush. The next person took 7 minutes! When I was first in line, they opened a second lane for interviews and mine took 5-7 minutes. They said so long as my fingerprints clear, I'm good to go.

Overall I was inline for probably 45 minutes and then out to Terminal B to pick up my car. I would recommend if you have the chance to do it and can spare the time upon arrival.

To follow up on this, my global entry was finally approved this morning - 2.5 months after my Interview on Arrival.

That's so weird...my interview was approved same-day. The guy gave me my number on the spot and told me I'd have a card in a couple of weeks (and I did). I wonder why it was so slow for you?

I had a number but it was not active until I got completely approved yesterday. I travel alot internationally so that may have been the hold up. The interviewer told me at the interview, that I should be good to go so long as my fingerprints cleared..... made me a little nervous.

UPDATE - Still waiting for conditional approval on a renewal. I really hope I don't require an interview. This is just a money grab at this point.

8 months and still waiting.....

I put my first time app in online over the weekend and saw my credit card get charged but no conf email or anything …How long does it take them to then offer you to book the interview ?

Going back and looking at my posts on the first page, it looks like it took about 2 days for me to get conditional approval. Then you have to create an account and be logged into it to make the actual appt.

Gotcha, got email today for conditional approval. Nothing near me with openings but happened to grab on at LAS this weekend while im there.
