How long do you want to ignore this user?
Wife and I are planning a trip to Boston this summer and wanted to spend half the time in Nantucket.

My question is what is the best way to get to Nantucket from Boston? I've seen the Hy-Line cruise but that's $80/person and was wondering if there's a cheaper option.

Thanks!

Nantucket is awesome.

Take the ferry to the island. The island is small enough that you can walk/bike anywhere you want go.

Also, visit the whaling museum.

I would take the High Speed ferry to Nantucket. It takes about 45 minutes from Hyannis, compared to a couple of hours if you take the conventional ferry. Yes, it's expensive, but worth it in my opinion.

Also, I second what dcbowers said...definitely go to the whaling museum.

Nantucket is the bomb. You'll really enjoy your time there.

Aeromass is another option. Although the owner is a bit of a jerk.

Has anyone been to the beaches? Which ones do you prefer?

We stopped off at a beach in Nantucket while we were bicycling. There was no sand...it was more like pebbles and small stones. Also, there were signs stating the drop off into the ocean was pretty steep, and to beware of seals. That said, there were quite a few people there. And just another thought...I presume there are other nicer beaches in the area.
