Thinking about taking my family out to Concan. With the current state of State parks and needing reservations, is there other public access to the Frio other than Garner Stare Park?

We stayed at Neil's a few weeks ago and they are right on the river

There are parking lots at the first two crossings above 127, but I believe you have to pay at them

The river was really low when we went with a LOT of walking

Do not do the long float

I was in Conan last weekend. Annual trip with college friends. We've been going out there for the last 18 years and it's gotten steadily more busy over the years. This year seemed like 30% more people than ever before. And it was low and slow. Lots of walking. We only floated one day. On Saturday afternoon we just went down and sat in the river down from our house.

I'll echo what's been said above. And to answer your question there is lots of access to the Frio outside of Garner State Park.

We stayed with vacationfrioriver.com ask for Donny. And Sid is the best!

Go to Junction and do the South Llano instead. Do kayaks instead of tubes. Much less people and much better water.

Headed up in a few weeks want to hike a trail at garner but really only have a half day or so. Let's say 10am to 4pm

Which trail should I target for best views ? Trying to get a decent workout in too.

You can probably do 90% of the garner trails in 6 hours.
