Adding lap infant to existing airline reservation?

We're traveling on domestic flights on American and SWA in July but have recently decided to foster a 14 month old baby. Can we add her to our existing reservations as a lap infant?

I did this with United recently so not sure of those airlines. I thought you just show up with a baby and it's cool but luckily I called to ask because they had to get her info and issue a ticket & boarding pass.

Maybe bring some earplugs for the people around you too.

Just give them a call. I think you could probably show up the day of the flight and get a boarding pass made when checking in, but better safe than sorry.

When we did it with United, we would just call head. Also, when you go to the airport, bring a copy of some sort of identifying document like a birth certificate or shot card.

Just flew SWA this week with my under 2. Show up to Full Service counter with birth certificate (and foster papers) and you are good to go with them.

NM - reread that it is domestic.

International has taxes so my advice would be different.
