Wife, 2 year old, infant, and I are heading to Phoenix to visit family in May. While there we plan to do a 10 day RV trip around Northern Arizona and Southern Utah. I've got a basic itinerary but wanted to get input on what to see, where to eat, tips, etc. for those who have done something like this.
Basically going from Phoenix to Flagstaff then a loop through the spots below and back to Phoenix through Flagstaff. Route looks like a balloon on a string on the map.
Monument Valley - 1 night
Moab (Arches, Canyon Lands) - 2-3 nights
Capital Reef - 1 night
Bryce* - drive through on way to Zion
Zion* - 2 - 3 nights
Lake Powell / Page* - 1 night
* - been once before when I was in middle school.
We might do one night at the Grand Canyon. Although we've been before and it's basically a day trip from Phoenix that we can tackle some other time.
Any hidden parks, views, gems in between we should check out?
Going to get a 2-kid 3 wheel jogging stroller for trails. The current 2-kid tandem strollers wheels are small and won't handle "off road" walks. I was also thinking of a back pack for the toddler (already have a Bjorn for the infant) but the boy likes to get out and run around a lot so that seems easier with the stroller. Not sure if the backpack is worth it as we'll be doing casual sight-seeing walks and no real hiking.
