We're taking a last minute trip I just booked flights for to LA, February 18-21, thanks to my mom informing us last minute that she wanted to watch our 3 little ones for us. Our first priority for this trip is to relax a little and actually get to enjoy a few meals without kids. However we still wanted to see a little of LA since neither of us have been.
My initial plan was to immediately head to Santa Barbara area from the airport for a couple nights and then come back into LA for the last night and day and a half. I don't want to waste too much time driving so is there anything closer to LA that might give us the same relaxed vibe as Santa Barbara?
We don't know anything about the area, so any advice on hotels to stay and places to eat near Sunset Blvd would be appreciated (we'd like to see a concert around there on Friday night). Also, any suggestions on 1 or 2 "touristy" things we might fit in would be great. Thanks.
