I'm trying to plan a trip for this spring break to Monarch Mountain. I have skied there before, but it's been 15 years since we were last there. I remember there being lots of cabins not far from the lodge, just down the road from the ski area. But I'm not having much luck finding them online.

I've checked VRBO and skimonarch.com. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We are hoping to stay with in a 10 minute drive of the ski area.

It wasn't any of the ones listed on their website?

Might try using Google maps. When you zoom into an area place info will pop up on the map. Might be able to identify them that way.

I've been a couple of times, and its been a while, but isnt that place tiny? A week seems a long time there.

I skied it the last couple of times I flew into Denver and drove down to South Fork to meet up with family skiing Wolf Creek. I really enjoyed it, and they had some good "sidecountry" areas as well, but it sure seemed little.

Try calling a real estate company in the area. We stayed in a cabin just down the road on the side of a mountain. I didn't set it up. I would think they would know who owns them or a contact.

Did you ever find a place to stay?

and yes, Monarch is small itself but it has tons of backcountry/free area skiing. If that's your thing. Apparently they've gotten over 3 feet of snow in Feb. so far.
