To add to this thread, went to Carnevino 2 weeks ago while in Vegas, as we chose to stay at Venetian this trip and the wife wanted to have the choice of pasta.

Had the Porterhouse, which is aged for 60 days or so. Though it was good, I still prefer Craftsteak.

I was in Vegas last week and I can also vouch for the greatness of Craftsteak at the MGM.

According to one of the cabbies, Dan Marino's has a cheap underrated steak if you are looking to save on food.

Went to Craftsteak...awesome restaurant, but I've had better tasting steaks at chains. At $100 or so per person, the experience was worth it, but the taste of the steak wasn't.

where would you suggest then?

tried to go to Ellis Island 2 months ago. There was a 2.5hr wait..........

to each his own, but it amazes me how people would just waste time in a freaking line to save a couple bucks. Just stay at home and go to Golden Corral.

Like you said, 'to each his own', but it amazes me how people spend $50+ per plate for meals

(we didn't wait the 2.5hr, we just turned back around and went on our way)

A group of us hit Jean Georges Steakhouse in the Aria last Thursday evening. I had the 12 oz fillet and it was outstanding. Zero complaints in a group of 9 guys. Highly recommend it.

i've been to several of the ones already mentioned, but my favorite is still the chateaubriand at Michael's. it used to be in the barbary coast (now wild bill's), but now it got moved out to southpoint. it's definitely old school vegas.

Risotto = Bad, extremely overcooked
Scallops = Horibble, no where near the perfect marshmallow texture
Fries (dont ask, someone else in the party ordered them) = Way over salted (waiter even thought so)
Steak = Terrible cuts for the entire party, not one was "spectacular" as I had been lead to believe

No one in the party thoroughly enjoyed their food.

I frequently watch Top Chef and wanted to try Colicchio's restaurant. I went in with high hopes, they were ripped to shreds by the end of the night.

Love Craft.

Been to Craft 3 times and loved it every time. First time was a cheap tasting menu, others were the highest end kobe packages. Everything was always outstanding.

We loved the steak at Craft. The mashed potatos were unbelievable.

I am a fan of Del Friscos and N9ne at the Palms. Both have awesome steaks.

Had craftsteak for the first time this trip. Wow, waaaayyyy overrated. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. We had the domestic Wagyu tasting menu, and quite frankly, i don't believe we were served wagyu grade beef. In fact, I feel pretty confident it wasn't even legitimately prime beef. The strip was tough, and overcooked, the filet was bland, the ribeye was good.

To top it off their wine prices run 20-30% higher than other Vegas Steakhouses

Of the steakhouses in Vegas I've been to, I'd rank them:

1. SW
2. Prime

3. Stripsteak
4. Tender




5. Craftsteak

Cut at the Palazzo.

By far.

I was about to post about this place. We were highly pleased with the food and service.

+1 for the Range at Harrah's.

SW, Craft, Stripsteak

SW is the best. Strip House in Planet Hollywood is prety good for somethng a bit cheaper.

Buchon in Venetian has a great steak as well, although it isn't a steakhouse...

Had a fabulous meal at DelMonicos.

I would revise my rankings to move Delmonico's to the top as well. Make sure and add the foie gras to whatever steak you get.

I can't stress enough how poor craftsteak is compared to Delmonico, SW and Prime.

Has anyone tried Joe's Steak and Seafood at Ceasers? I had the bone in filet at their Chicago restaurant and it was probably the best steak I have ever eaten. I'm heading to Vegas in March for a company event and was thinking if trying it there as well.

Just got back from vegas and my vote for best steak i've ever had was at Delmonico's-I asked for truffle oil mixed with butter on top of my steak and it was absolutely amazing.

We've eaten at Joe's Steaks and crabs in Vegas and Chicago. Both places are very good. I like The Golden Steer ok. It is old Vegas, but Ihave had better steaks in Vegas. But it seems like we end up at The Golden Steer more often than any other place.

Stripsteak far and away the best

Just got back from Vegas and wanted to pass along my thanks for the recommendations.

I lurked on this thread and ended up going with Cut. Ordered the Australian Wagyu Filet & added the bone marrow to the cut.

Overall review:

We ate at both Craft and Cut. To us craft was average but nothing special. Cut was AMAZING. Everything we ordered tasted wonderful.

I thought Craftsteak was good but I do not get the incredible hype this place receives from people. It was just an average steak house that was way overpriced. The Steakhouse in Circus Circus is the best steak I've had in Vegas.

Circus Circus, huh? I bet you think the Golden Steer is good also.

You know what the highest rated steakhouse in Vegas is? It's the Steakhouse in Circus Circus. I have a friend that lives in Vegas and that is where he said to go. I didn't believe him until I went. It put Craftsteak to shame.

Been to most of these places. Another good one is 35 at Hard Rock. Damn fine steak.
