Anyone here?

Rangers finished the season with 46 on their 40. Looks like they will need to trim 6.

FAs: Montgomery, Beeks, Pederson (I think there is an option), Alexander.

Higgy and Junis have Options.

That's 6, but they can cut at least 4 or 5 other dead weight guys. Winn, Ahlstrom, Silseth. Helman, Freeman

That's 6, I suppose.

Lopez and Williams were not on COTS, so I missed them. I considered Lopez, but thought maybe there was a reason he was listed on COTS.

I thought Diaz was already off the roster.

I think the Rangers have 5 days to exclusively negotiate with pending FAs, so CQ may be one they are trying to work out a deal, before they both walk away.

Not sure how long they can negotiate Options. Probably 5 days?!

I'd likentonsee CQ back for 1yr at less than $15m, but unlikely. I liked Junis. My guess is he wants a multi-year deal.

Pederson can go (at $18.5m), as can Higgy (@$7m).

Everything I've heard indicates Pederson and Higgy wont be back. FWIW

Pederson declined the option so he's gone.

Really surprised about this one. Does he think he's going to get more than $18MM somewhere else? Or is his last year significantly lower than that?

Don't be surprised. The last year that a mutual option was exercised in MLB -> 2014. I imagine the Rangers were going to decline anyway so walking on his own saves a little face. Teams will pay $8-10mm per 1 WAR and he was a 1.7 WAR guy this year, so he can probably get a 1 year deal fairly close to the # in that option.
