if the Dodgers gets Skenes, teams should just forfeit against them and force Manfred's hand.

TBH America will force Manfred's hand by shrugging and no longer caring about baseball.

Hand up. 100% me too. I didn't see this at all and was full-on burn-it-down mode. Glad they didn't take me call and even more glad baseball is (currently) fun again.

It just occurred to me. I have a blue and tequila sunrise jersey with Springer on the back.

Maybe that's a sign.

Robbie Ray, Kyle Stowers, George Springer. Lets roll.

Just don't bring Robbie Ray to close it on Tuesday afternoon

I never got to see Connor play, in part because he was born before the Civil War.

You can't just leave us hanging like this. What were the other reasons you weren't able to see him play?

I still have my orange World Series springer jersey. I wore it when the blue jays came to town last year. He was my favorite from that 2015-2020 run so can't bring myself to get rid of it

Yeah that was reported last week. They don't want to trade webb. This is what Jim does every year trying to poach somebody's ace. He got JV (2x), Grienke, and Kikuchi. Was unsuccessful going after Cease and Snell+Hader.

I just realized we are 2 games out from catching the White Sox for the 2nd playoff bye. It also reminded me how much of an advantage the #2 seed has over the #1 in the way the brackets set up.

yes, the Rays and Yankees/Red Sox will be forced into an ALDS matchup

as the #1 vs. #4 / #5

He started his career with the Troy Trojans, and I got banned from their stadium for engaging in fisticuffs in 1879 when someone dared say that Texas should pay reparations to the Union for starting the Mexican-American War.

There I was, sitting in the bleachers at Putnam Grounds, dressed to impress in my frock coat, trousers, ascot, monocle, and bowler hat, enjoying a tall glass of sarsparilla, and making plans to take a stage coach Utica to see this fellow by the name of Woolworth who had invented something called the "5 and 10" store, when suddenly I overheard this most villainous monologue besmirching my home state.

Despite the game playing on the field mere feet away, I sprung to my feet and raised my voice, a powerful baritone, to declare, " "See here, sir, as sure as Texas will always be a bastion of Democratic political power, I shall hear no such slanderous affronts on its honor!"

He challenged me to a duel but I had forgotten my cane sword at home so I punched him in the face. We were escorted from the field, banned for life, and each made to pay the exorbitant fee of 15 cents for the disturbance caused.

One of the reasons it'll be better to be the 2/3 seed this year. We'd play most likely two central teams

Astros looking good lately. I would not have guessed it but I guess playing in the worst division in professional baseball does help.

I think adding a short 19th-century TOFA narrative would improve it considerably... but maybe I'm spoiled by CK's game posts.

I guess it didn't mention anything about bustles, corsets or laudnum. Always room for improvement.

I'd like an extended postseason run so Altuve can hit 3 HRs and take over the all-time post-season lead.

Or that he never had anything to do with player personnel. I can't remember, but I don't like hearing his name come out of Dana's mouth.

I will be hitting refresh on this thread all day. Hoping for a couple big pickups. It's obvious this team is overall on the decline so I'd love to see us push all the chips in and go for it this year. Especially considering we prolly won't have a season next year. Would be nice to be AL champions two years in a row ha. Prospects be damned. Win one last championship and worry about next year, next year.

Should be an interesting day.

My prediction… Robbie Ray and Taylor Ward. That's just a complete guess on my end, but I know we have strong interest in Ray.

They like Stowers as well but he ain't cheap.

Popcorn is ready.

I think I trust Ward slightly more than Springer for the rest of 2026. Neither are great.

Toronto gets Soriano from the Angels. Weird. Didn't expect them to buy.

Don't sleep on a Detmers to Houston deal.
