I find it hazard to believe that Imai and Burrows haven't done that multiple times this season.

Hats off to Joe for recognizing early that Imai was going to put the game out of reach if he didn't pull him in the first inning yet again.
I don't think I've ever witnessed an Astros starting pitcher crater so badly so early so often. He's a one man bullpen crusher.
Two more years at $18 million per. Dana needs to be fired into the sun.

Dana deserves plenty of hate and criticism, but he has nothing to do with Imai. That is 100% Jim Crane.

Imai is not on Dana. All Crane.
Crane is pretty much the GM of the team at the end of the day.
He gives Dana such little cash to work with and expects miracles. Meanwhile Crane handles any signings/trades that involve more than a few million dollars.
Even Dana's first couple drafts… Crane gave him a very specific type of player he wanted.

Reading the tea leaves and connecting the dots I'd say absolutely not when Luhnow was here and yes when Click was here.
But Click didn't always follow daddy Jim's instructions so he was shown the door.

No, that's what the Dana isn't the problem and firing him does nothing crowd has been saying. Honestly the best case scenario at this point is if Dana gets extended because that means he has earned some level of trust from Jim and he might get more rope to operate with. But if we hire someone new then it's a guarantee we start all over with the no trust relationship with Jim micromanaging everything.Ag_07 said:

I 100% agree. I don't think Dana is the best GM by a long shot but starting over again in the front office is a worse outcome in my opinion. Additionally, I think we would be really disappointed by the caliber of GM that would want to sign up to lead this ship.
Yeah, it was a great month...until Joe took him back out of the leadoff spot.

Agreed…with the amount of "hands on work" that Crane does, no GM worth a damn would ever want to come here. We saw the same thing 4 years ago when Dana Brown was the best choice we had. None of the big names wanted anywhere near this job and it's gonna be worse now.

His biggest move was trading Tucker, but the prospect we received isn't looking so great as a late inning defensive replacement
I think Dana has a long enough track record at this point to say he's not been effective at improving this club. He has way more misses than he does hits.
He was brought in to be a Scout, but that seems questionable based on how our prospects have turned out. We need to get back to analytics.
