You are correct, he is not.

My point is that by old HOF considerations, he would have zero chance moving forward as he has not accumulated enough bulk stats in his prime years.

But by new ways of thinking (including ones that can get deGrom in the Hall), he has a path if he puts up a few more seasons remotely like this one.

Berkman got tragically overlooked for the lack of his counting stats, but I think he would make it slam dunk if he appeared on the ballot for the first time now.

The Avg WAR of starting pitcher in the HOF is 73. Degrom is at 49.7.

Degrom does have two Cy Young's but so do Denny McClain, Brett Sabehagen, and Tim Lincecum. All not in the hall for a variety of reasons.

Well wins are about the worst factor to use in evaluating a pitcher especially a pitcher in this day and age.

As for Yordan, I agree he needs several more years of solid production, but it's hard to argue he's not one of the top 2-3 hitters in MLB over last 6 years. See stats below. I would say 3-4 more good years (ie like '22-'24; assuming '26 is once in a lifetime), and he's got a great argument.

Not that this is a metric of any kind, but in 13 years DeGrom has started and pitched in 271 games. In comparison to Koufax, in 12 season he pitched in 397 and started 314 games. Koufax's last 4 seasons he pitched 311, 223, 335 and 323 innings. The most DeGrom has thrown in his career was 217 and he has 120 this season. His stellar ERA and WHIP are partly because he is out of the game early.

Yes Koufax threw in a different era where guys were expected to go longer in a 4 man rotation. But that gives DeGrom an advantage of rest.

In those 13 games, Paredes is 11/44 with only 5 BB, 4 2B and 0 HR.

Yordan's struggles are tied to the guy behind him.

If he had other impressive stats, I would agree. He had 3-4 really good years. Not enough.

He's such a young prospect, sky's the limit here.

Fair. If he retired tonight, he's not getting in. But how many more year of prime / near prime do we really need to know he's one of the all time best? I want to say something like 4-5 years of 110+ games probably does it.

How many would get in if they stopped playing at age 29? That's an exceedingly small list I would think.

I'm using a dedicated astrophotography scope called a Seestar S50. It collects the image like a camera.

It has a dedicated app that takes each 10 second exposure and stacks them for as long as you want to build a brighter and brighter image without you having to do that yourself. Basically, tell it what you want, sit back and stare at the stars while it does its thing. You literally watch the image get built live on your phone.

It's not big as scopes go. Only 50 mm aperture. But over 20 plus minutes it adds up. I got it 2 plus years ago and it was one of the first "smart scopes" on the market. There are much better ones now. I'll probably upgrade at some point.
