If Jake can't stay up when a street FA gets signed this late in the season, why is he even here? Just send him to someone in the Spring as an add on and clear the roster spot.

He'll be a non-tender candidate if he can't be traded, and it's likely teams will just wait it out if they actually want to try him out. He seems like a Rays-y type that would catch on there, but who knows.

If it's tied in the 9th and you're on the road there is no margin for error and you can't give up a run. As such, you want your best most high leverage reliever in the spot.
