Lets try to be positive for a minute. Give me a hot take about the 2nd half. No tanking. No sell off. No "we suck".
For me, I think Cam Smith finally breaks out. I think he'll have a sustained .850+ OPS.

Now that we've made it past the ASB, how do we feel about the new hitting coaches?

Team OPS is up over last year, even while batting average is down, and the K/BB ratio has improved by 10% so far.
I'd say the results to date are encouraging, even if Yordan is skewing those results a bit. Do you think otherwise?
He Who Shall Not Be Named has most definitely not been missed. Next question?

Astros top priority is a left handed OF bat.

Players being targeted: Mickey Moniak, Jake McCarthy & Luis Arraez.
(Give me Arraez hitting AFTER Yordan, PLEASE.) ((He can also play OF))
Astros CURRENTLY have the best offer for Skubal (that WILL change)
Mark Bowman named Eric Hartman the Braves’ top trade chip and potentially the most interesting one in all of baseball.

Should Atlanta deal him now, at peak value or keep him, betting he becomes a superstar? pic.twitter.com/9e3ITokBOf

Yordan is absolutely skewing the data. Pretty much everyone has been worse or the same, except for Walker.

Headed to Seattle next week for work and planning to catch a day game at T-Mobile.
Any suggestions of things to do in/around the park? Restaurants? Breweries?
For sure, those stupid roasted grasshoppers are on the list.

Good seafood there too.

Wild, I believe they have some of the better food of stadiums I've been to. Tickets are also very affordable.
Hooverville Bar is a good spot. Hatback is good before games. Fast Fashion is a good brewery.

Really need another team to outbid us for Skubal because there is no way that deal doesn't involve either little Alvarez, Neyens, or both. And we have no business trading either of those 2 away for a 3 month rental that doesn't even guarantee us the playoffs.
Neyens is legit. Alvarez has some potential upside but thus far nothing really stands out about him being a future star. I wouldn't trade him for a rental but also not expecting him to be an impact player at the major league level.Dirty Mike and the Boys said:
Agree when it comes to Neyens. He's proven early thus far he can adjust his approach to bump up the OBP in lieu of power. Not worried about the lower than expected slugging, and honestly encouraged that the first thing he's done since joining the bigs is work on and quickly improve what was seen as his biggest weakness. He might get a decently fast track to the show if he can maintain the OBP while letting the power come as he grows into that frame.
