He looked like he might have found something in 2024 before having TJ and missing last season. 16 BB and 90 Ks over 66 innings of A/A+, sporting a 0.95 ERA. Apparently has one hell of a changeup.

Get him fully rehabbed and he could be in the mix for a spot in the pen next season.

I think Paredes for Donovan would be an overpay by us, but we need a 2B and LHH more than we need an extra 3B. I would prefer to send Walker instead and let Paredes play 1B and trade other pieces for Donovan.

I would think the Cardinals would be after prospects rather than major league talent. Aren't they looking to trade Donovan because he'll be beyond team control by the time they'll be competitive again? Same would hold true for Paredes.

Maybe it's possible to get a third team involved. Astros get Donovan plus another player from the Cardinals. Third team gets Paredes. Cardinals get prospects from third team.

Still seems like a trade that would only happen if we can't move Walker.

Baltimore has been very stingy with their FA deals, but especially when it comes to SP.

I would hope out of all the pitchers out there over the years, Suarez isn't a guy we go crazy for and pay big money to. He's more Dallas Keuchel than Justin Verlander. Doesn't throw hard. Doesn't generate a ton of Ks. Lives off soft contact. Doesn't give up walks. Obviously, he's still very effective. I am just being nitpicky, but this is my preference.

If the total value stays around 125 M or below, I could see the Astros being players. Those 6/160+ M deals are likely out of Crane's comfort zone.

Did he address why he drilled his own catcher in the chest with a fastball in anger over his own mistake? And why he made the catcher take the blame for the incident in public? Those are things I would want to know if I were a potential future manager/teammate.

Hope it opens his new catcher's eyes because that ball is coming whether you're ready for it or not.

Makes me wonder if the NY news outlets rehabbing him is a sign the Mets intend to win the bidding war for him?
