I guess he really didn't want to be here.

I think the correct view is that Crane wanted his $210 here even more.

I would have been surprised to see Crane offer 7 years to a pitcher not named Hunter Brown.

Crane probably wouldn't give Shohei over a 6 year deal if he was available

No way he'd match what Cease got

So what is the story there? He practicing better framing? Or practicing not tipping the pitch location with an early glove position?

Guessing it's not so much tipping but more so to not give the umpire an expectation of where to look for a pitch.

Serves both purposes I guess.

I'd give Hunter Brown that Cease deal right now.

I like Jake. I think he is a .275, 15 HR guy at his ceiling. He worked at hitting over last winter, so hopefully he can build on that. His homers are not cheapies, so hopefully he can hunt pitches he can drive better

My only worry is with him bringing the glove up to the frame point, is he going to prevent his pitchers from getting the borderline bottom of the strike zone calls since it looks like he is pulling the pitch up at the catch point?

I'm sure one the stat gurus can find it but IIRC it seems like Jake hits the ball hard at a good clip.

There are some line drive that he absolutely mashes. I can remember one laser he hit off the CF wall on the fly that was incredibly impressive.

Don't hate it. Where would we have been last year without random arms like Alexander & Walter.

Ok with the move as long as its not the only pitching add.

270 1/3 innings pitched...Is that correct?

League leader last year was 207 IP

I know this is a Rockets question, but yall are my people and I trust yall… How would one go about finding the lowest prices for Rockets tickets these days? Looking to bring my two boys on Friday night.
Long gone are the days of me working as a Marketing Associate for the team…I don't know anyone in the front office anymore I can touch base with.

SeatGeek seems to be my best bet. Anywhere else I should be looking?

As a result, multiple sources said Houston believes its best avenue to acquire an established starting pitcher is via trade. There is considerable interest from other teams in both center fielder Jake Meyers and right fielder Jess Snchez, though Snchez's dismal performance after the trade deadline may impact his value.

This tracks. Framber is probably looking at 5-6 years at 25-27 AAV. Suarez is probably just behind him 6-7 years at 20-24 M.

More SP for them means they're more likely to deal Soriano.

Yep.. this is what I've been alluding to.

They're going to try very hard to acquire a legitimate #2 guy via trade.

I think it's going to be very hard to acquire a legitimate #2 via trade

Meyers, Walker, perhaps Pena/Paredes is going to be on the shopping block I'd imagine

It's a big risk if we don't. I understand reenforcing through #s (Weiss, JV, etc) but eventually you will get burned without the high-end arms anchoring the rotation.

They're going to be very aggressive and take big swings. Obviously - it still requires finding the right team to trade with so nothing is guaranteed. But they're trying.
