Astros Bingo Update 6-29-25

Since it's an off-day, there's a look at the bingo standings to see who is hot pursuit of me and Marvin's $100 down at the bottom of my post with everyone in it. The All-Star game will be a major move in the standings for a lot people . 4 picked Hader (lock), 7 picked Framber, 3 picked Hunter, and 1 picked Pena. After that, other than the month and any possible trades, it will be a little bit of a slow go, especially with Pena missing time which will make his HR and SB totals a little harder to reach.

For now, the 96-win pace is back, and everything else is pretty status quo. Framber has now surpassed Hunter Brown with a 17-win pace, and Hader is on pace for 44 saves and 110 strikeouts.

So let's talk Altuve, whose homer was hit #2,313 of his career, tying him for #153 all-time wit Jim Bottomley, a very underrated left-handed 1B who played with the cardinals from 1922-1932, then a few years with the Reds and his last two with the St. Louis Browns. What is even more fascinating to me is the huge discrepancy in Home/Away splits for Walker. Just statistical noise, or is there a reason her can hit at Daikin but not on the road?

I don't think you bring up the real up-and-comers until you have runway for them. Bringing up Matthews for a month and then relegate him?

Is he not better than Rodgers or Guillorme?

They do manage service time to extend out arb years for prospects, it sounded like in the Luhnow era they had that down to a science

Not always about who's better. Has to do with options and service time.

Whitcomb has already been called up so his clock has already started and it won't burn another option.

Not the case with Matthews and they don't wanna go down that road for a fill in for a couple weeks until JP gets back.
