Interesting.
A strike zone from the knees to the belly button is gonna wreck havoc on pitchers.
Quote:
The official strike zone is the area over home plate from the midpoint between a batter's shoulders and the top of the uniform pants -- when the batter is in his stance and prepared to swing at a pitched ball -- and a point just below the kneecap. In order to get a strike call, part of the ball must cross over part of home plate while in the aforementioned area.

Great question. Let me nerd out. Some correlation, but plenty of exceptions to the rule (like us).txags92 said:How do the team rankings correlate with W-L record?Farmer1906 said:

I think the win percentage is good because it isn't just a matter of how many runs you score, but how quickly you get to the other team's BP.Farmer1906 said:Great question. Let me nerd out. Edit:
If you see a lot of pitches, you probably don't suck. But just because you don't see a bunch of pitches, doesn't mean you can't be good. Very few in an imaginary top left quadrant. Several in an imaginary bottom right quadrant.
Edit:
This exercise should have been done with Runs, not Win%.

In getting to the bullpen early and often should translate to runs. If it doesn't, then what is the point?txags92 said:I think the win percentage is good because it isn't just a matter of how many runs you score, but how quickly you get to the other team's BP.Farmer1906 said:Great question.
