The AAV is 30 according to Olney(?), so he's getting paid less than 30 a yr. If he's getting paid 30, the discounted value of the deferred salary will make the AAV greater than 30.redline248 said:Posts above indicate that he's getting 30/year and the remaining 30 million is deferred to after the contractagdaddy04 said:

So that makes what he accepted even closer to what the Astros could have paid him for 3 years. How is it not a worse deal for him?TRM said:The AAV is 30 according to Olney(?), so he's getting paid less than 30 a yr. Bregman is gonna get boo'd when he comes back. Typical out of touch athlete.
The Guardians have a deal with RHP Jakob Junis, per sources. It’s a one year deal, pending physical, that guarantees $4.5 million to the 32-year-old swingman.

Junis can work as a starter or reliever, throwing 265 IP over the last three seasons for the Giants, Brewers, and Reds.

I'd be willing to bet he gets a nice ovation.

I absolutely love seeing stuff like this on social media. Especially when I recall parents talking about how their 9-year old is too advanced for such basic work. My boys see it and go do stuff like this regularly.EastCoastAgNc said:Brice Matthews works on defense pic.twitter.com/N1BBuvBfHN

"This guy wants to be on the field. He has pitched huge games for us...I saw him in 2017, shove it up, you know, against us, when I was on the other side...I've seen how bad he wants it...I'm just happy he is close to getting back on the mound & contributing," Espada on McCullers https://t.co/mXwmhoSuDL

I like what Espada said about the change in approach and offense at the end. He says they are looking to get back to where the team is seeing more pitches and making opposing teams work. That is something we completely went away from last year.EastCoastAgNc said:"This guy wants to be on the field. Lance McCullers Jr. said he is a few bullpen sessions from facing hitters and hopes to pitch in spring training games. He expects he would start the season on rehab in Triple-A with the goal of joining the Astros’ rotation at some point. He does intend to build up to start.

Here’s Lance McCullers Jr @lmccullers43 updating us on his rehab, as he’s ready to get back with the team this season and make an impact with the @Astros. He explains in depth his injuries & surgeries, etc. @karbachbrewing pic.twitter.com/nDcEI3oTN8

"People say 'Well, just make him a reliever.' That's not an easy thing to do ... It's not a fallback position. It's doing a disservice to the guys who are in that role. It's very specific and very hard ... Pitching back-to-back or three out of four, for me, is physically harder." https://t.co/5iWaH1htP5
