Quote:
Ryan Clifford, 1B/OF, Mets
Clifford took a while to get going last season. For the first two months, between High-A Brooklyn and Double-A Binghamton, he hit just .192/.371/.298 with two home runs and a 34.5 percent strikeout rate. But from June on, the hulking slugger slashed .247/.373/.486 with 17 homers and a more manageable 26.8 percent K rate. While Clifford is not likely to hit for a high average -- in part because his patient approach leads to many two-strike counts -- his disciplined eye allows him to get on base at a high rate, and his tremendous power is a big reason why he enters the year as the No. 7 1B prospect. He'll be one of the youngest hitters in the upper Minors this season -- not turning 22 until July -- giving him time to iron out his rough areas.

I don't know about yall but it really feels like 2025 is now a new era of Astros baseball.
Lost Tucker, Bregman, Verlander, Pressly, Altuve playing outfield might happen, new city connects, and a ballpark name change.
That's a lot of change in one offseason
Still have a lot from '22 in Altuve, Alvarez, Framber, Javier, McCullers, Abreu, Garcia, Brown, Pena, McCormick, Meyers, McCormick, Dubon.
That would not have been a horrible OF signing for us. Other than the baggage.EastCoastAgNc said:Free-agent outfielder Ramón Laureano in agreement with Orioles on one-year, $4M contract, source tells @TheAthletic.

Something like this:
Astros Send:
- Montero
- Melton
- 2 10-20 type prospects
Astros Get:
- Arenado (full contract)
- Donovan
We'd be over the CBT and need to clear a roster spot. We'd probably need to move Caratini somewhere else for a minor leaguer.

Ted Williams actually played more baseball during the five years* that included his WWII service than Anthony Rendon has during the five years of his $245,000,000 contract with the Angels so far and I'm going to need a second to fully absorb this.

If the trade talks move forward, they could have implications for Alex Bregman's market.
Of note, Cardinals exec Chaim Bloom has close knowledge of Boston's prospects.
