Some of this Bregman stuff just seems like more effort to convince Altuve we tried everything we could.
I dunno what's going on behind the scenes or why Bregman is a unique situation from Carlos or Springer, how it would be a grave mistake to let him go elsewhere?
I'm not even convinced I want to get rid of Pressly to get Bregman, that makes our bullpen a lot weaker and puts us over the Tax just so Bregman can get paid for the next 6 or 7 years in a contract that's undoubtedly going to expire terribly.

I think Toronto ends up signing Alonso and Vlad moves to 3B. He clearly wants to. He's not a good defender and his weight will work against him but I bet he does that.

A caller earlier today on 790 proposed the idea of LMJ playing left field, pointing out he could probably match the offensive output of Jake/Chas and that "he wouldn't have to throw much". Remember he does bat LH.

I wouldn't turn on Pressly for holding up any deal
It's his right to maintain the no trade clause, and he may want to stay in Houston

Pressly was incredible. It did feel like it was rarely easy but he got the job done far more often than not. Would be a shame if his last outing here was focused on as part of his legacy

I get the sense that Pressly doesn't want to play for the Astros but wants to remain in Houston.
What is the plan if he says yes? Was hoping for a major OF addition, but unless that comes via way of trade, not sure anyone is really left.
