Left handed OFer we got from the Yankees for cash when they were making room on the 40 man.
He's also a former first-round pick in 2016 that's been traded from the Reds to the Padres to the Mariners, then waived, picked up by the Dodgers, waived again, picked up by the Yankees.

Basically, a first-round pick that's done nothing in his career but bounce around.

When he was introduced this week Burnes said he reached out to the Diamondbacks because he moved his family here when he was with the Brewers. They had twin girls last summer and he was having to travel back and forth. They're the only team that has spring training where they play the season so no family separation. I think the signing woke the Diamondbacks up to an advantage with the players that live here full time. Not sure how they just realized this.
