Being a pure DH limits his top end earning potential, but if Stanton could get a ridiculous contract I'm sure Yordan would've. Whether or not it makes perfect baseball sense I really want us to give him a second contract. Need a star on the team to bridge the post-Altuve era.

Are teams doing that Stanton deal now? I'm not so certain. Also he was 25 (younger) and was still an everyday OF (even if not a good one). Seems like David Ortiz is a better comp.

Soto would be the closer comp. But no one will be giving Yordan anywhere close to the money Soto got.

Yordan plays in Houston and Soto played on the East and West coasts and for NYY.
