There were times where it appeared he was lollygagging in the outfield. I don't think anyone would disagree with that. We just didn't see that as much with Springer, Bregs, Altuve and Correa.Farmer1906 said:

The NYY were the team most favored by umpires in 2024 by over 7 runs to 2nd place Cleveland (32.9 to 25.87).MosesHallRAB04 said:
The biggest thing about Bregman is if he's worth the contract he'll get. He had a very rough offensive year. Not great timing for that. The most concerning thing to me is that his walk rate seemed to plummet.
I think a long deal for him will be painful especially at the end barring a major change.
I can agree he made some business decisions on ball in RF during the regular season. That is why his defensive #s took a hit. I know we like to call him a 5 tool player, but he does not have the speed. He's a strong baserunner. But the metrics show he doesn't have the elite or even excellent high-end speed. He has zero bolts in his career.Wabs said:There were times where it appeared he was lollygagging in the outfield. I don't think anyone would disagree with that. And there were also times where Tuck made some pretty spectacular plays. He has the talent to be a top 10 player in the league, if not top 5 or MVP.
Will be interesting to see how he does/acts with another team.

You're better than me. I'll actively root against him if he goes to the Yankees and enjoy his every failure. I'm vindictive like that.htxag09 said:Eh, works both ways.tylhair said:
If Alex Bregman goes to the Yankees it is because they believe he is worth market value and the Astros don't.
You can boo if you want, but maybe you should boo Jim Crane. I know you won't be alone.
Bregman has given everything to the team and city for a long time and brought us countless memories and a couple trophies. I think booing him is horse s***.
Let me be clear, I don't fault Bregman for going to the Yankees if they offer the most money. But....in doing so, he's putting aside all the crap thrown at him and his teammates by their fans (and even players) over the last several years. Which is fine. He can do that.
But if he can do that then I can also put aside the achievements he made here and boo him. I won't, I don't boo any players like that, it's silly, but I won't root for him even in the slightest.
What would he have done to you to earn your vindictiveness?Bassmaster said:You're better than me. I'll actively root against him if he goes to the Yankees and enjoy his every failure. I'm vindictive like that.htxag09 said:Eh, works both ways.tylhair said:

He had a slower home to 1st than guys like Yainer, Aledmys, Dezenzo, and Heyward last year. But even earlier in his career, he was behind Yuli.Quote:

Agree! I'm anxious to see what we get in a trade but there is no reason to rush. It's critical we get back players that can start the rebuild, not JAGs. We have plenty of them.Ag_07 said:
Yall never cease to amaze me.
I'm glad Dana is sticking to his guns and hasn't pulled the trigger yet.
If he's gonna send Tucker to an AL competitor especially the Yankees he doesn't need to be accepting low ball offers.
The fact he hasn't done anything is a good thing.
How do we know the Cubs have anything on the table?SpaceCityAg05 said:
I just hope we don't screw around and lose the offer the Cubs supposedly have on the table. It is a good offer even without one of their top 2 IF prospects, although I would still push hard for that.
To me, any Yankees offer that doesn't include Gil AND Jasson Dominguez is a non-starter if the Cubs have a package like that on the table. I certainly understand if they are unwilling to part with so much, but there are no-trade fits with them otherwise.
"Hmmm...it looks like Tucker may be beyond your price range. We are, however, offering a special on Jake Meyers."
According to AL folks I trust, it will be a surprise if the Astros don’t trade Kyle Tucker within 48 hours. The Cubs appear like clear favorites. Until a deal is done, keep an eye on the Yankees, but Cubs were better positioned.

Still waiting on other sources to call back.

I agree that we do not know. But I am guessing the talked about offer is close since it seems to be reported on by Astros media, Cubs media, and general baseball media.
My GUESS is that Paredes/Suzuki is agreeable, but we are trying to to get Cam Smith on top, causing them to balk.
I think the Cubs would much rather move Bellinger than Suzuki, but I am guessing that won't be a deal breaker. If it were, the Astros probably would be open to swapping out Bellinger for Suzuki, but that would require some additional variables to come into play, including the possibility of Pressly and other pieces being in play.
