I personally couldn't care less about our local broadcast. If I turn the Rangers on, it's usually in the background anyways.

I'm not gonna lie…that doesn't sound like a lot of fun.
That's not very confidence inspiring, and sounds like it's time to put up or shut up for Sam. I expect he'll be traded or DFA'd by the end of spring training unless he really shows something.Quote:
The Rangers like Huff behind the plate in terms of receiving and throwing, but they are still not sold on his game preparation.
"Sam's going to have to earn his spot in spring training," Young said. "It's a performance-based game, and as much as we like Sam and believe there's potential there, it's up to him to perform at a level that makes the decision for us."
Rangers free agency fits: They have a fine first baseman, but with less financial wiggle room, does Nathaniel Lowe's looming arb raise mean the Rangers need to reallocate those dollars? If they do, what is left at 1B?https://t.co/DTkryGOUU4

One year ago today, Adolis Garcia hit a 9th inning Grand Slam amidst a chorus of Minute Maid Park boos to help the Rangers force a Game 7 in the 2023 ALCS pic.twitter.com/vB9dDCe6uu

Never seen a stadium empty so fast. They were basically gone by the time he finished his HR trotPatAg said:One year ago today, Adolis Garcia hit a 9th inning Grand Slam amidst a chorus of Minute Maid Park boos to help the Rangers force a Game 7 in the 2023 ALCS pic.twitter.com/vB9dDCe6uu

Good post, thanks for framing the offseason.DallasAg 94 said:
He was mentioned... but I don't recall a real discussion. I see him as an option, but I don't know that I want to spend on him. Mahle hits $11M on CBT each yr.
With Eovaldi ($20M), but not Chafin (opt) and Robertson (opt)... the Rangers are sitting at about $205M in CBT That includes Serfs and projected-Arbs. It leaves about $36M to spend. $56 if Eovaldi declines. I expect us to be below CBT.
I think we need a DH/RHB, 2-3 BP pieces and 2 depth SPs.
Mahle made $5+$16, but his CBT was split at $11M each year. He is 8 months older than Bieber, so they are relatively in the same places, although Beiber had his TJ in mid-Apr, Mahle in last May. About 6 weeks later into the season. Meaning Beiber is a better candidate to pitch meaningful baseball than Mahle was.
CY indicated Eovaldi and Heaney are a priority. If Eovaldi doesn't accept his $20M opt, that likely means he has offers for a multi-year deal.
Sasaki, if posted, might be an option, but many expect he could sign with the Dodgers. He'll be subject to Int'l Pool money. He likely makes more in endorsements playing for LAD than he would Pool money.
If we miss on Sasaki, Eovaldi, and Heaney... I'm for lower tier options like resigning Urena and/or Lorenzen. Then, keep our SP powder dry for any mid-season bargains.
Jose Trevino is as classy as they come.

He said watching the Rangers win the World Series last year didn’t add any fuel to his fire, then went on to praise the organization for everything they’ve done to get him to this point. pic.twitter.com/Blp3ixeajf
I'm rooting for the Yankees because all of the Clayton Kershaw teasing the last few years ( with no pay off) and the dodgers pretty much acquire everyone else's good players without paying or giving up anything of value.Flounder Dorfman said:
Jose coached my twin boys for a couple of seasons of select ball when he was in Frisco. He was the assistant coach since he couldn't commit to being at every practice and game because of his schedule. I don't remember him ever missing anything though.
He is a really, really good dude that loves our boys. He still texts and FaceTimes with my sons. One of my boys was talking to one of his high school assistant coaches about it one day, the coach doubted his story, so he FaceTimed Jose and he answered from the Yankee locker room. He grabbed Aaron Judge so they could say hi to him as well.
I'm a big fan. That's who I would love to see back in a Ranger uniform one day.

Well the problem with that is no one forces teams to trade with other teams. Daniels had 28 other teams to talk to, or at least 5-6 that were in contention.
Regardless, I'm not really pulling for either team to win or lose. I like Dave Roberts and I like some players on both teams. Obviously I like Jose Trevino. But what my plan has been is to avoid MLB Network and not watch any ESPN baseball coverage leading up to the World Series and it has worked so very well. Now I'll watch tonight once I get home with the volume turned down low enough to where I'm not listening to the announcers blowing both organizations the entire game.
