Should not have sent Garcia on the last out. Ball was in pretty shallow LF and he was just getting to 3rd base. But there were two outs and the bottom couple of guys in the lineup coming up, so we gave it a shot.

I think the arm slot of the SD pitcher has him messed up at the plate. Maybe third time up he will be ready for it, or possibly we can get this guy out of the game before Langford comes up again.

Yeah I was actually ok with the send at the time. It wasn't an egregious decision. Sometimes it just doesn't work out.

Likely gonna depend on how they close going into the deadline. Seattle is scuffling lately so we're not really losing ground.

The season certainly isn't over but it would take an epic comeback to get back into it. We are running out of time and we need to start getting red hot NOW. We can't keep winning 2-3 ball games in a row then losing 2-3 in a row. Honestly we need to go a minimum 7-3 in the next 10 games just to stay in this thing. We are 2-8 in the last 10 and that includes the stretch where we thought we were turning a corner.

We're approaching the territory of what would be an all-time comeback to make the playoffs.

Yup. With us coming off a championship and having the talent to compete for a title in 25 I'm not really worried about this season. The only thing that could happen that I would consider a failure is if we continue to play like this and we don't trade any of the guys with expiring contracts this year. We need to get something in return for those guys.

Semien is hitting .174 since colliding with Adolis.

We just have to put everything together.

I think everyone agrees we have the talent. The problem is we are running out of time. The talent needs to start coming together right now. We can't wait much longer if we have any hope for this season.

I agree the time is now, but I'm still not in panic mode.

Here's the reality, Semien (.231, 11HR), Seager (.263, 15HR), and Garcia (.219, 16HR) will have to get going for us to compete.

Taveras (.226, 5HR), Janko (.205, 1 HR), and Duran (.256, 2 HR, minors) should all be on notice of diminishing roles for 2024.

At this point, I have no expectation of Carter returning and all I need to hear about Jung is, they have scar tissue they have to remove for me to write him off, as well.

While it has been agreed that we need a RHB... at this point, I think we need a RHB and another Bat to insert for Carter/Jung.

Our 5 best SPs are ALL FAs (bolded) after the season, knowing that Eovaldi has vOpt that could keep him.

On the one-hand... we could get a substantial haul for those guys (with Yates and Robertson and Leclerc, also FAs).

If you decide to sell... it will be a substantial tear-down.

I'd prefer CYoung going to Lorenzen and getting a 2-3 year deal done and then moving Gray and/or Dunning for a bat. Lorenzen can fill the 2025 spot in the rotation and be modest in price.

Just looked at Brock Porter has had 2 outings in AzCL.

I'm really hoping our Offense gets moving. If we get the current roster of bats rolling, we'd be in a position that many of us want and that is trading some of our SP for prospects instead of a bat.

Tampa had a SP come back and traded Civale (Arb in '25, then FA) to Mil for a 19yo SS (Gregory Barrios) who slots into Tampa's #19 prospect slot, projected to hit MLB in 2026.

They have Baz and Springs also headed back. They are likely trading another SP or two.

That's a supplemental way to add to the Farm.
