Didn't see it posted on here but Mahle and Rocker start their rehab assignments this week. Guessing that'd get Mahle to the big league club in about 3 weeks (if no setbacks).

We played like ****, the schedule was brutal, but good news is June is over and the schedule in July is much more favorable. If they're going to get back into this thing they've got to get on a heater in July.

I've been pretty negative this month. My frustration comes from players like Semien, Heim, Seager, Lowe, Garcia, Taveras all playing well below what they're capable of. That's the most frustrating part about this season. There's absolutely no way this line up should be this bad. There's great talent on the way to help this pitching staff but they haven't been the problem at all. It's been almost the entire line up forgetting how to hit fastballs. It's insane.
On the bright side, they're starting to square more pitches up and are coming around. Baltimore was fortunate to win that series. Winning 2 games by 1 run, with several loud outs the past two nights.

trade deadline this month (july) ….I knew selling is the talk around here…. but it looks like White Sox willing to move Garrett Crochet… seems odd, hes under team control but they are willing to flip the 25 yr old…. how many 19-23 yr olds do u have to package to appeal to the Sox?

My hope for the end of the season is that we get everyone healthy going into the offseason and that CY has some nuts and isn't afraid to make moves to change this team moving forward. This team needs to be tweaked and the farm system needs to be shuffled. Don't just sit on your hands.

Langford is the first rookie in MLB history to have a cycle, grand slam, and inside the park homer in a rookie season. Bit of a weird stat, but kind of cool

He's Arb1 next year. Had TJ in 2022. Has very little stamina (aka history of reaching 150+ IP).
He is at 94 IP at the midpoint. Last year was technically his recovery season, but still... I'd be surprised if he doesn't hit a wall at about 125. He is a next year SP, IMO.
Somebody will trade for him and their fans will complain that he was terrible for what they paid.

Another really great article from the Athletic detailing the country mile gap between AAA and the MLB. Shocker that one of the biggest issues for young or new hitters is hitting plus velocity.

We're 8 games out of the last wild card slot currently (if my math is correct). We will have to play north of .600 baseball the last half of the season to have any kind of chance. Is it time to scrap any idea of deGrom returning and give him another offseason to get better
I think if he's able to pitch this season, you let him - regardless of where we are in the standings. If he stinks it up, then he stinks it up, but at least he's knocking the rust off.

DeGrom wouldn't be back until August anyway, so let it play out and see where the team is the last week of July. Either way, he's not going 7-8 innings in 2024 in any start. No matter what the standings are.
Like rbtexan has said, if he's healthy and ready to go then you throw him out there on the bump. He's making too much damn money to simply shelve if he's medically cleared to play. He also needs to knock rust off and find a groove again. He's pitched so on and off the last few years.
