Sad to see there were 6 walks issued by the Rangers, which somehow did not come back to bite them in this game. But got the W!

I was legit annoyed that MLB and other rotation rankings before the season failed to recognize the Rangers.

Here is where we are:
Bradfrd: 3GS, 1.40, 19.1 IP; 6.1 IP/GS
Eovaldi: 4GS, 2.92, 24.2 IP; 6.1 IP/GS
JonGray: 4GS, 3.44, 18.1 IP; 4.2 IP/GS
Dunning: 4GS, 3.91, 23.0 IP; 5.2 IP/GS
AHeaney: 3GS, 6.75, 12.0 IP; 4.0 IP/GS
Lorenzn: 1GS, 0.00, 5.0 IP; 5.0 IP/GS

With Leiter tomorrow... Just need him to go 5-5.2 and give up no more than 2 ERs.

The fact we'll have our 7th P get a GS tomorrow is trending to more than you'd want... Lorenzen was by design and Leiter could be opportunistic. I think it is necessary for his development. Pitch well. Listen to the Rangers and you'll get rewarded. Now throw strikes.

I'm excited to see him go. I think someone said ESPN(+?) or MLB has picked up the game, but still on Bally's which means it will be Blacked-Out for me.

Did I mention our SP is:
4th in MLB with a 3.25 ERA
3rd in the AL behind BoSox (2.03) and KC (2.29)

Ragans at 1.93

Looks like the Astro bullpen just blew another late inning lead. Braves tied it up 4-4, bottom of the 8th.

At least we aren't the only one with a leaky bullpen

Don't really care what the rest of the west does today. I'm just glad we got a split at least up here and the offense actually showed up today. First 2 days in Detroit the offense was so bad.

I hear you, but we need others to continue to lose every chance they get. As poor as we have been offensively, we need to build as big a lead as possible on the West.

Nobody has brought it up yet, but the injury to Justin Foscue really hurt. We all know Foscue can hit and he might have given the offense a boost over these last 7-10 games where it's been so bad.

Foscue's injury opened the door for Wendzel who has done nothing but hit into double plays, strike out, and look like crap out there.

You might get your wish. Astros are going to extra innings with the Braves and garden gnome, Yordan, Bregman all hit in the bottom of the 9th.

The Astros appear to be the only team built to compete with us so I won't bother tracking the A's / mariners/ or angels until July. See if they hang in that long.

Respectfully....no, we DON'T know that he can hit. That's an assumption based on (quite frankly) a lot of hype. He's 25 and a career .275 hitter in the minors, that isn't exactly George Brett. Look at how Langford and Carter both younger with fewer pro ABs) have struggled - and they both have more potential as hitters than Foscue. And don't even get me started on his defense.

I hope I'm wrong about Foscue, but IMO he's a right handed Willie Calhoun. If he hadn't gotten hurt, he wasn't going to carry this team offensively.

Don't forget that Wendzel allowed for Bochy to PH the secret weapon to win the game today. So good by Wendzel for that.

I'm not a huge Foscue fan or anything, but to be fair the guy has more hits in 1 AB then Wendzel has put up in 2 weeks.

Astros lose 5-4. Swept by Atlanta in Minute Maid.

Yep. Gained another game on them. I am empathetic to their offensive woes and gas can bullpen but I'm not sad for them. Need the other three to lose today because we need some breathing room.

Been awhile boys. Pretty good start to the season considering all the injuries. I got a feeling the bats start to heat up and the HRs start coming in bunches!

I'm calling it now. Langford hits his first career home run next AB.
This is starting to get ridiculous. If he's going to DH, he needs to hit the ball with authority. 1 double and 1 triple and 0 home runs in 76 plate appearances. We don't need Tom Goodwin as our DH to slap hit and bunt. Come on dude.
MrCoachEricTaylor
How long do you want to ignore this user?
As great as he's supposed to be, people need to remember that he's still a rookie. He's getting pitched around something fierce and getting strike calls more than just the ones out of the zone from Angel.

I saw earlier that Acuña hit his first HR today against HOU, sometimes that's just baseball too.

The Bats usually come around for Rookie 1st time SPs.

We should put up 7-8 Rs. Hoping for a 5+ Inning and 10 ERs overall.

Kenta Maeda going for Detroit: 3GS, 6.00 ERA, 15.0 IP, 10K, 5 BB.

Need to be patient and selective. We may dink-and-dunk and score runs in bunches.
