Carter is batting scared it seems. Just up there looking to walk every time instead of attacking. It's gotta be mental.
Damn. He lets a 3-1 fastball go by for a strike and ends up with a defensive swing on 3-2. Really struggling.
The best inning in a while and it still ends with a disappointing Carter at bat and a one pitch out from Semien

The 3-1 fastball was a good pitch down in the zone and on the outer black. No issue with a take there at all unless you are sitting on it and ready to go the other way with it.
Garabito can def help this pen at minimum.

Keep in mind nobody probably has a book on him.
He was a complete unknown to us, and there is a good chance the Rangers wanted to keep the move quiet until as late as possible. He didn't quite make it 2 times through the order.

I get that but he also has a lot of movement on his pitches and is having a great year in the minors. Seems like he could bring value in the pen as a long reliever potentially.
Anyone else remember the days when we questioned why Josh Smith was on the roster, much less in the lineup? I think he has won me over!
We are squarely in "he can't come out even when everyone is healthy" territory.
With Seager and Jung's health issues, I'd be perfectly fine rotating those 3 at DH.
