Unless we are planning on trading Tucker that makes no sense.

Stick him in LF.

Would you rather have Tucker or Soto? Because there is less than 0 chance you get both.

Well you may get them both for a year but that would mean no Bregman and the year after no Tucker and no Framber. I just can't see Crane spending for 2 of the 3. We just aren't in the Dodgers/Yankees class in terms of revenue.

We're not getting Soto. But if we're going to drop 500 M we can make it work for a season.

Kind of bummed I'm leaving San Diego right now. This town is fired up. Seeing them at their watch party downtown on Sunday reminded me of the early part of our run.

So. When do baseball execs create teams to be hot at the end of the season rather than best all season?

Because the best teams are getting whipped by the hot ones. And it's not just a one season phenomenon.

Man, watching Alonso two-fisting it (phrasing check... beer drinking) in the clubhouse with goggles on makes me miss pennant celebrations in Houston.

Anyone know what percentage that catch should have been? Looked like Soto didn't even need to dive…

I think they would if they knew how. As of now, just seems like luck….

In fairness the Mets have been one of the best teams in baseball since May 30th

Something about fighting for your life late into the season seems to be the magic button recently

Not sure why Jazz was upset with that called strike 3.. It was center cut.

Nah, he needed to dive. But he did look a lot slower than I remember and he's only what, 24-25?

We really didn't have to fight. Seattle was so bad and we played so well in late June and July that really the last couple of weeks were just reality setting in for Seattle. The Mets, KC and Detroit played for their lives.

SD is more the outlier. They are just a really good team that peaked and sustained the peak.

Interesting move by the Padres, already up in the series, to pitch Cease on three days rest for the first time in his career.

ETA: yeah, that didn't work.

Another Yankee win last night, another 0-fer for Judge. Dude is like 6 for his last 50 postseason ABs.

You have to wonder if that stadium will be playable next season. It's only 6 months. Not only do they have to replace it but they will need to do structural assessments of the beams and girders. And it won't exactly be a high priority item right now.

Their owner wanted to play a split season in Tampa and Montreal before they got funding for their stadium. His dream might get to become a reality.

I cannot imagine it will be....the Rays are going to need a different home at least for the 2025 season

And I don't think the Astros were going to bench Lance Berkman for him.
