True… But also given how elite Correa was in the postseason and I don't think we would have an issue there. Who knows, maybe Correa would've won World Series MVP

Pretty sure it was posted earlier. Doesn't Correa have a negative World Series win odds?

I don't know off the top of my head. I'm just saying I still think we'd win the 2022 WS with Correa at short over Pena.

But luckily, it's just a hypothetical, and we did win in real life so really is nothing but fans speculation. Like I said in my earlier post, Morton is the one that I think got away. Letting Correa go was the best decision long-term for the organization.

I've been at a golf tourney all day and may have missed this in the 190+ updates today, so pardon my dumb question. Have they realized the playoff roster yet?

Braves up 3-0 B7.

It's getting closer and closer to having both WS teams from last year playing golf tomorrow.

Well one team already was playing today. But the other will be playing tomorrow.

You can get an upper deck ticket for the game tomorrow for less than that drink

And if you lick the seat it would taste better too.

Not that I'm advocating licking the seat.

Since the Yankees and the Mets are both in the playoffs, it raises an interesting question. If the Yankees are the Mets Daddy, does that make the Astros the Mets Grand-daddy?

Not that I really cared if the Braves advanced or not but couldn't you made the 9th a little fun Mets

I don't think either team has enough pitching to make it to the DS anyway, completely sober or not.

Not that I give the Amazins much chance to win the NL Pennant but it would be a lot of fun if the 'Stros could eliminate the Damn Yankees in the ALCS and then get revenge for '85 in the WS.

They'll play loosey goosey and shock the baseball world by winning game one?

They just announced Pete Rose passed away.

Maybe they can put him in the HoF now.

Shoeless Joe died a long time ago and he's not in.

Dead or alive Pete won't be getting that honor.

Major difference between those 2 and you know it.

Pete will be in at some point

Yep. Big difference. One had hard evidence of betting on games while playing and one was anecdotal.

One intentionally lost games and the other did not. Massive difference and if you can't even acknowledge that then there is no discussion to be had

If the NFL ran like baseball one of the MNF games would have come on in the middle of the afternoon.

There is no evidence at all he intentionally lost a game. He made no errors and batted .375, a record that stood for 50 years.

You can want to believe he did, and there is some evidence of his teammates doing it but no evidence at all he did. Kennesaw Landis couldn't afford to not ban them all. He had to lay down the law.

There is a mound of evidence that Pete bet on games as a manager. He knew what he was doing and what the consequences were. Fay Vincent and John Dowd both said they had evidence it was on the Reds but they didn't want to go down that dirty path and that's not what Pete pled guilty to. And he pled guilty.
