Exactly. He clearly had nothing in the tank and didn't have good stuff all game.

Yeah the hit was a bloop, but come on man. It's like blaming bad headlights for the accident you were driving drunk in.

Also don't buy the "testing" JV to see if he has what it takes for the playoffs. He's on the playoff roster unless his arm falls off. If Joe doesn't have the balls to pull him in this game he's certainly not going to pull him from the postseason roster. He will be in the rotation. As well he should be unless his wheels totally fall off.

I don't think it is nearly as egregious as your posts are making it seem. We are six games up in the standings so not exactly a must win situation so as such I have no problem seeing if Verlander could finish the inning. This is the time of the season to see if JV can work himself into a pitcher that can contribute in the postseason.
