I know that JV's return has the Astros wanting a six-man rotation, but Blanco has been screaming for a break for a while. He has given incredible effort, but signs of fatigue have been there for over a month. He has given one hell of an effort and could use a blow before the final stretch, but you finally saw the dam break for him tonight.
Tough L with some shaky defense and Blanco putting us in a hole early. Hurts double with Seattle up 3-0 early against LA

I know he got the L tonight, but I really like what Ort does in this bullpen. He's the only pitcher tonight to not walk a guy and has been efficient in his outings, not to mention a sub-1.50 ERA. He's way better than the Ferguson-Dubin-Martinez tier

He was very good against Tampa last week, but their lineup is also terrible.
Dusty never pinch hit and Espada is clueless on when to do it.

If he would be more selective of his pitches, his slugging would improve. Can't hit with power when you are hitting stuff 6 inches off the plate or above the strike zone.

I would not be surprised if Espada left Whitcomb in there so he could bat late in the game with some pressure on to see how he'd do for experience.
Yeah, the numbers don't show it clearly, but for those watching, he has gone from cruising in the first half to absolutely battling, fighting tooth and nail, in the second half.
The second half struggle actually helps convince me that the first half was not a fluke. Even as he has fatigued and his stuff has fallen off, he has shown good pitchability.
He just needs a break. A phantom 15-day IL stint wouldn't be the worst thing for him as you could skip two starts.

Cabbage. Another LH hitting OF clearly replaces the Cabbage/Leon slot.
Tucker hypothetically (and at this point I do mean hypothetically) replaces Whitcomb or Dezenzo, although I still say I would replace one of them right now with Salazar since Diaz and Caratini need to be playing everyday.

Dubon was the difference, sadly.
Everyone pitched in on the loss. Altuve had chances with men on. 0-8 with RISP hurts.
These games are the frustrating ones, when 1 hit, 1 throw, or an error can make the difference.

I really hate rooting for the Dodgers, but they're getting absolutely screwed by CB, 1B ump, and NY in review booth. Just got out of it though.
